UA students often spent the weekend outside of their dorm and back to their parents' houses. However, some couldn't because their parents lived too far away from the school.
Uraraka's parents were part of the latter category, that's why she was alone in front of her dorm, sunbathing in the grass. The only other girl that was still in the dorm was Momo but she had stayed in her room to work. Uraraka knew she should be studying too but the warm sun was too tempting.
Kaminari and Kirishima had greeted her when they came back from their jog. She was reading a book Shoji had given her two days before and she loved the story. Sato had even promised her a slice of the cake he was baking.
Today was a good day.
She enjoyed the sun on her skin, relishing in its warmth. She was still sore from the intense sparing of the night before, and it felt good.
She was laying on her stomach, lost in her book when she heard footsteps. She did not really care who it was. Whoever it was, if they wanted to talk to her, they just had to open their mouth.
The person's shadow loomed over her and she frowned at the pages.
"Oï, Cheeks !" They grunted and she rolled her eyes. "What are you doing here ?"
"I'm sunbathing." She didn't even look at him.
"You can't do that here, Round Face." She could feel him leaning over her shoulder and she glanced up at him, annoyed he was hiding the sun.
"Why not ?"
"That's my place. I always train here." He crossed his arms, looking down at her.
"Well, not today, Bakugou." She turned back to her book. "You just have to go a little further away." She shooed him with her hand. She felt him bristled and hid her grin behind the book.
Bakugou glared at her, too surprised to retort anything. He had not expected her to ignore him. He wanted her to fear him and leave. Instead, she was laying there, buried in whatever story she was reading.
"Then I'll just train here, right next to you." He growled menacingly.
"Yeah, whatever suits you." She shrugged and he looked at her aghast.
He sighed as loud as he could and walked to the other side of the lawn. He tried to ignore her as he lifted his dumbbells in a well-known motion.
From her side, she could hear him breathing loudly and hissing under the effort. She did not mind though.
From time to time she glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. She wondered if, maybe, she could join him in his training. She wondered how heavy his dumbbells were. Hers were too light for her now, but she didn't have enough money to buy new ones.
No, Ochaco ! She chastised herself. Today, she were to rest and take care of herself ! If she really wanted to train, she could just run for a bit in the evening. Today, her body needed the rest. She closed her eyes for a second, then went back to her book.
She turned all the noises around her out and just focused on the story. It was a spy story, and she loved it. It was the third book Shoji lent her and she had loved all of them. They had quickly realised they had very similar tastes and kept exchanging books and movies and stuff.
She was particularly immersed in the action, so much so that she completely missed the presence of someone next to her until it was too late.
The person dumped an entire bottle of cold water on her back.
She screeched, pushing the book away so it wouldn't get wet and loosing her page in the process. She turned around, pissed, and received more water.
"Mineta ! What the hell ?!" She was seething.
The short boy held his hands in front of him.
"What ? We can't have a girl sunbathing and wearing clothes ! Now you just have to take your shirt off and let it dry next to you, and keep reading." He smiled widely.
"You, little-"
"Come on, Uraraka ! Do you want me to help you take it off ?" He leaned forwards, his hands hovering over her shoulders.
"Don't you dare touch me !" She warned him once. When he ignored her, she slapped his hands away with all five fingers and pushed him hard, sending him flying against the wall of the dorms.
He got stuck in the wall, lucky for him as, otherwise, he would have floated into space.
"Here, put that on." Something fell on her head. When she grabbed it she recognized Bakugou's shirt. The one he had taken off to work out.
"Thanks." She mumbled and slipped it above her own wet white shirt that had become almost translucent.
"What a shitty thing to do for a future hero ! Not being aware of your surrounding." Bakugou scoffed.
"It's not my fault, I wasn't expecting to be attacked on the school grounds on a Saturday !" She glanced at her book, she was happy she had saved it from the water, she wouldn't have had enough money to buy another one for Shoji. "The book is just too good." She mumbled.
"Tch."
"Uraraka !" Mineta cried. "Why did you do that ?"
The girl ignored him but touched her hands together to release the short boy.
Now, her mood was ruined, though. She looked up at Bakugou with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Are you done with your training ?" He nodded, his lips pursed. "Would you agree to spar for an hour or two ?"
The explosive boy smirked and held out his hand for her. He helped her up.
"Let's get ready, Cheeks."
Five minutes later they had both changed and were walking to the Gym side by side, ready to fight.
Now, her mood was slowly lifting up again.
