Who let the dogs out?

victory asked for a oneshot of Charming saving Emma from street dogs.

"Shit." Emma mumbled, cornered on top of the roof of her bug. The pack of wild dogs surrounded the car, growling, snarling and snapping their teeth viciously. She had been helping Scott the butcher throw out some meat when she'd got splattered with blood from some of the beef. Of course she decided to take a shortcut home to get rid of the smell of blood from her clothes, hair and skin…but unfortunately that shortcut included a shady alleyway. And in that shady alleyway was a group of dogs who were driven crazy by the smell of raw meat blood from Emma. She only just made it to the roof of her car in time, and was grateful none of the dogs were big enough to do more than snap at her ankles. Fortunately, she had her phone in her jeans pocket and was able to call her dad to rescue her before she became kibble.

As soon as Emma called, Charming rushed to the shelter where he used to work and got some food for bait and the pound's van. He rode to where Emma was and distracted the dogs with the food, getting them into the van.

"Thanks dad." Emma said, relieved, as she climbed down from the roof of the bug. "That was too close for comfort."

"It's alright, I recognise some of these guys from when I worked at the shelter, they were in and out a lot- like Big Frankie here." Giving one of the dogs a little pat now that his belly was full. "And little Pepa here." Charming said, tickling a little Chihuahua under the chin. "They're alright once they've been fed. What they really need is a good home." Charming sighed. "I just wish people were more careful with their pets". (coughs microchip and neuter coughs) Emma gave a sympathetic smile.

"I can't say I'm too attached to any of them right now, if I'm honest." Charming laughed.

"Yeah, I can understand that. Don't worry, I'll get them out of your hair now…speaking of getting things out of your hair…"

"I'm aware I still have cow blood in my hair." Emma snapped. "I was going home to shower when I was ganged up on by these hooligans. Anyway, thanks for saving me dad. I knew I could count on you." Charming beamed, loving that Emma trusted him now.

"Any time honey." He promised her, and he meant it, he would always be there when she needed him.
