The blanket

A guest asked for a oneshot of An adult Emma having a meltdown because Neal- whilst mad at Emma- rips her baby blanket and Snowing go to Granny to get it fixed.

"No no no no!" Charming and Snow heard Emma scream. They looked at each other, alarmed, it was not like Emma to sound that emotional. "You stupid little brat, do you even realise what you've done?!" Now they knew something was badly wrong. They raced through to the living room to see Emma, clearly broken on the floor with her blanket in her hands- expect it had a giant tear right down the middle.

"What happened?" Charming asked, knowing how much the blanket meant to Emma. Emma shot daggers at her brother.

"I told him to turn off the wrestling because I know he's not supposed to watch it. He decided to give me attitude so I just picked up the remote, turned the TV off and placed the remote on top of the shelves. He stormed up to my room, came down with my blanket and did this." Emma said, holding up the tattered blanket. Snow and Charming shot their son stern looks.

"Is this true?" Snow asked him. Neal- still looking furious- nodded.

"But she deserved it!" He screamed. "I was watching John Cena!" Snow and Charming couldn't believe he had done this. Charming bent down so he and Neal were eye level and placed his hands on Neal's shoulders so he couldn't run away.

"Neal Leopold, you know how much that blanket means to your sister." He said sternly. "Breaking it deliberately was a very nasty thing to do and your mother and I are very disappointed in you. How would you have liked it if Emma deliberately broke your John Cena action figure?" Neal didn't answer. "Exactly. You have really upset your sister as well as your mother and I, and you will apologise to her." Neal, now that he had calmed down, felt terrible for what he had done. He started to wail.

"I'm sorry!" He cried between sobs. Emma nodded, but wasn't quite ready to forgive him yet. He had their parents, how would he know what it felt like to only have a blanket growing up? Charming got up and now placed his hands on Emma's shoulders.

"Granny made this blanket once, I'm sure she'll be able to repair it now. Any costs will be coming straight out of Neal's pocket money." He assured her. He gave his daughter a quick hug before taking the blanket carefully from her. He went back to Neal and sat him at the timeout table.

"Your mother and I are going to see Granny to sow Emma's blanket back together. You will sit at timeout until we return. Understood?" Neal nodded solemnly. Charming and Snow then quickly left to take the blanket to Granny. They had never seen Emma so upset at her brother before. They knew the blanket meant a lot to her, but even they didn't realise how much.
