Dietary changes

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma and her family back in the EF for good and she isn't adjusting. Charming and Henry hunt down a griffon for dinner which Snow cooks but Emma refuses to eat. Snowing tell her she can't leave the table until she does.

Guest who asked for the broken arm oneshot: I'm afraid I've already wrote Emma hiding an arm injury from her family.

Also, congrats on your new law change American! Australia the world turns to you next! :)

Why couldn't she have had a normal family? A nice, normal little family that lived in a nice, normal little town or city in the real world. Well, her real world. The Enchanted Forest had never really been Emma's home. But no, Emma would just have to accept that this was her home now. There had been no choice but for everyone return, otherwise the "real world" would find out about them and they'd be hunted down and made into a tourist attraction like a giant freak show. But that didn't mean Emma had to like everything. There was no modern plumbing (although Emma was making headway on that), no electrical devices, no internet and no modern food. Emma was finding the shift in diet the trickiest to cope with.

About a month into the move, Henry came home grinning proudly with his grandfather smiling behind lugging the griffon they'd shot down with an arrow in the eye.

"Dinner is served!" Henry informed his grandma, mom and uncle, dumping the bird on the table.

"Not on the dinner table!" Snow chastised him. "I don't want to have to clean up all the blood. But good job boys, this will do perfectly for dinner. I'll roast it up right away. It should only take a couple of hours." Emma groaned, that was another issue, no ovens, microwaves or electric kettles meant everything took much longer to cook. But she suffered through. Food was food after all…

"Well at least that's what Emma thought until the roasted bird was placed in front of her on the dinner table, suddenly taking away her appetite. Snow carved the bird and handed Emma her share with the vegetables picked from the freshly harvested palace garden. Emma turned her nose up at the bird.

"As lovely as this wannabe chicken looks, I'm not feeling very hungry so if you don't mind I'll be…"

"Sit back down." Charming said sternly. Surprised by his tone, Emma returned fully to her seat. "Emma Henry and I worked very hard to hunt down and kill that bird so we could eat tonight. I know this is all new to you and you're struggling, but you need to try."

"Fine." Emma grumbled. "I'll eat the vegetables as a compromise, and you know how I feel about food that's green." Emma picked up her fork, placed a piece of broccoli on the end of it, and had a tentative little nibble.

"Oh you will eat the vegetables." Snow said in that mothering voice that made the hairs on the back of Emma's neck stand up, ready to receive a lecture. "And you will eat the griffon. You will not be leaving this dining room until you have cleared your plate, young lady." Guards!" The knights nearest the dining room suddenly flooded in. "Please stand guard at all the exits to this room. See that the Princess does not leave until both her father and I have given our permission." The guards bowed and went to their posts, leaving Emma livid. Snow and Charming just smirked at her. "Being the rulers has certain advantages. Including as parents." Emma scowled as she cut up the damn bird. That was playing dirty!
