A\N: This is much fluffier than The last chance because my mind is blank and I'm in the mood for a short, fluffy and romantic Willicia oneshot. In this one, Will survived the shooting that almost took his life and married Alicia not long after he got out of hospital and Alicia FINALLY divorced Peter.
Enjoy this Willicia oneshot, Angels.

The metal of the two rings on her left ring finger bite into her finger as she leans against her husband's office door frame. It's been a year since the shooting in the court room that almost took her husband's life and ever since then whenever she sees him, she's eternally grateful that he had enough fight in him to hold on. Even though he survived, there were some moments where they weren't sure if he'd pull through. She wasn't religious like Grace was but whenever she was alone, she would send up prayers, praying to whoever was listening to make sure he'd make it. She remembers when she saw him laying in the hospital bed for the first time after the surgery he had: it had scared her to see one of the most strongest men she'd ever known look so weak.
Flashback:
She can't make her feet walk into his room. She's stuck in the doorway, her eyes glued to the thick bandage around his neck. The doctors told them: her, Diane, Cary and Kalinda that even though he had made it through the surgery, he still had one hell of a fight ahead of him. She feels the tears she's held back all day start to crawl down her face as she walks into his room, her heels clicking loudly on the floor as she comes to sit next to him, taking her hand in his, squeezing it softly.
"Oh, Will." She sighs, looking at his face. Despite the surgery, his face isn't the colour it usually is, he's still got a grey tint to his features. "Please pull through this." She whispers as her fingers run through his hair. She smiles when she remembers how much he loved it when she ran her fingers through his hair. Will doesn't stir when she runs her fingers through his hair like he usually would if he was asleep. Alicia can't take her eyes off of Will, she's scared that if she does, he'll die right in front of her and despite the war the two of them are in, she knows she wouldn't be able handle it if he left her life forever, even though she's at war with the man who has made her so happy, he's still in her life and she's grateful that he is. "When you wake up, I'm ending this war between us and me and Cary are returning home, back to Lockheart/Gardner where we belong, then as soon as your strong enough, you're going home and I'm coming with you and taking care of you, like you've always taken care of me. It's your turn to be taken care of, no objections, Mr Gardner."
Will has spent the last 20 years taking care of her from Law School, to her wedding day, to the phone calls they traded back and forth over the years, visiting her in the hospital when she had Zach and Grace, to the long phone calls when Peter's scandals first broke the news, to offering her and the kids his apartment until they found something of their own, which she declined, to helping out with the kids when she needed it, to hiring her at his firm, taking her in when everyone shut her out just because of who her husband is, to picking her up when she fell, to listening to her rants about Peter and the media and the clients who weren't happy to have her on their cases, to loving her when she needed to be loved, to be her friend when she needed a friend, to push her when she needed to be pushed, to rein her back in when she was too out of control, to pull her out of the hole she was going to far into when she needed to be pulled out of it. For the last 20 years he's been taking care of him without a care in the world. Now it's her turn to take care of him.
No matter how much he objects.
She comes out of the flashback with a sad smile at the thought of losing her husband to a bullet to his neck, meeting her husband's eyes. "Leesh, you okay?" He asks as he stands up from his desk, the light from his laptop catching the band on his left ring finger. She enters his office, looking around it as if she's seeing it all for the first time and it feels like... coming home again.

"Leesh, you okay?" Will Gardner asks his wife after staring at her in silence for the past five minutes. He watches as she enters his office, looking around it, like she's searching for something. Her eyes find his.
"Whenever I step into your office, whenever I step into your arms, it feels like I'm coming home." His wife says as she walks deeper into his office with a smile on her face. He walks around his desk to wrap his arms around his wife's waist, breathing in her scent. He knows what she's talking about: when he got shot, all he could think about was her, the woman he's loved for the past 20 years, and how she'd be like if he died on that court room floor, a bullet in his neck, blood spilling from his body into a pool underneath him, and for once he was glad Alicia wasn't in court that day because he didn't want the last time she saw him to be on the court room floor, covered in blood, dead.
She's always been and always will be his home, he only realised the fact when he woke up from the surgery and found her looking at him, holding his hand.
Flashback:
All he feels when he comes to is pain everywhere, but all that doesn't matter when his eyes flutter open and he's looking at a bright, white ceiling in the hospital. He screws his eyes shut and turns his head to the side and lets the pounding in his head subside before opening his eyes, a smile coming to his lips when his locks eyes with Alicia who is sitting in the chair beside him holding his hand.
"Hi." He says quietly, his voice slurring from the effects of the anaesthesia still flowing through him. Alicia chuckles as she uses her free hand to run her fingers through his hair soothingly.
"Hi," She replies just as quietly. "you're okay, Will, you'll be okay." Alicia says, squeezing his hand when a bolt of hot pain shoots through his neck, causing him to let out a grunt of pain. He squeezes her hand tightly as the pain fades slowly.
"When you get out of here, I'm going to stay with you and take care of you." Alicia says, he instantly shakes his head in protest: he can't have her hit pause on her life with work and the kids to take care of him. Alicia rolls her eyes. "Will, you've been taking care of me for 20 years, let me take care of you for once." Alicia tells him, doing her famous puppy dog look that he can't resist. He sighs before nodding and staring at her. She's staring right back at him, that little look in her eyes.
"Leesh, what's going on in that pretty head of yours?" He asks her, Alicia doesn't answer right away, her eyes locked on the bandage around his neck.
"Will, I could have lost you today.. do you have any idea what was going through my head when Kalinda called me telling me you had been shot?!" She asks him, her voice louder than normal but quieter than shouting. She takes a breath before looking away from him, swallowing audibly. He doesn't even want to think about what she was thinking when she received that phone call.
Then she's looking at him with tears streaming down her face. "Will, I can't lose you. The Kids, my job, Cary, the firm, you, are all I have, and I lose you, Will, I lose a part of me." She admits to him as he opens his arms for her. She hesitates, looking at his neck and he understands her hesitancy towards getting in the bed with him: she's afraid to cause him any more hurt than he's already in.
"It's okay, Leesh, you won't hurt me." He assures her. He watches as she slips off her heels and crawls into his open arms, laying her head right over his heartbeat.
Will comes out of the flashback and presses a kiss to his wife's head. Her hair smells of raspberries.
"Whenever I look at you, you're my home, you've always been my home." Will tells his wife. His wife pulls away slightly and kisses him softly on his lips.
"Thank you for making it home to me that day." She whispers to him even though it's just the two of them in the office. Will kisses her back.
"You know I'll always come home to you, no matter how time it takes, no matter what shape I am, no matter what mood I'm in I'll always come home to you because I love you, Alicia Gardner." Alicia smiles and kisses him again, deeper this time.
Will tightens his arms around his wife's waist as he kisses her back.
He knows whenever he's with her, he's home.
She knows whenever she's with him, she's home.
