Princess envy
Earlyriser asked for a oneshot of Snow gets upset because she finds out Emma's favourite Disney princess as a child was Sleeping Beauty. Emma explains that she found comfort in the idea of being sent away to be protected.
"Seriously?!" Snow complained, pouting. "Sleeping Beauty?!" Snow folded her arms across her chest, clearly in a huff. Emma bit her lip to stop herself from laughing.
"Well I could lie to you and tell you that Snow White was my favourite Disney princess to help your mothering ego?" Emma offered. Snow nodded curtly.
"Yes. That would be much appreciated." Emma laughed as she rolled her eyes and went back to watching TV. "Just tell me why." Snow persisted. "What did Aurora have that I didn't?"
"Ok, first thing's first, Disney's Aurora and Sleeping Beauty, not the real you and Aurora." Emma said, turning the TV off and turning to face her mom. "Secondly, Aurora in the Disney film was more like me than your cartoon alter ego. She got sent away by Stefan and Leah to keep her safe. She didn't know her parents and neither did I. It was kind of a nice dream to think that maybe my parents sent me away to keep me safe from some evil witch…which turned out to be more scarily accurate than my pre-schooler self would have ever thought possible." Emma said with a grin. Snow felt a little bad for being so grumpy now, of course she liked Aurora more than her when comparing their movies. "But if it makes you feel better after spending some time with both of the real deals, you're way cooler than Aurora. Much more badass." Emma told her. Snow smiled and kissed Emma's forehead.
"I'll take that."
