Note: Anthony belongs to TeeZee. This scene takes place during Chapter 3 of his story Hilda and the Crossing Journeys.
Anthony was walking around Trolberg on a calm morning. At first, he seemed doubtful about living in this place, but with the amount of friends and support he has been receiving for these past few weeks, he was starting to get comfortable. David and Frida were quite the allies for him to trust, especially Hilda. As Anthony reached an area that had a beautiful view of Trolberg, he heard some whimpering. The boy looked around to find the source of the sound. He managed to find a blue-haired girl sitting on a log, crying while covering her face. Anthony was concerned as he sat down. "Hilda?"
Although she was still crying, Hilda looked up to see her friend. "O-oh. Hey, An-nthony."
"Hilda, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
The girl sniffed as she rubbed her eyes. "Trevor… he thinks I'm a problem…"
Anthony was confused and in disbelief at the same time. "What?! What do you mean?"
Hilda shed tears while explaining. "He was mad at me for taking you away from him. Trevor mentioned you were his only friend that he cared about until you met me."
Anthony didn't say anything since he was still worried about Hilda.
"I tried to apologize to Trevor, but he wouldn't listen to reason!" Hilda resumed crying.
The boy started to comfort her, but he noticed something on her. A bruise on her leg. It wasn't big, but it was still noticeable. Anthony knows Trevor was responsible for this, but before he can confront him, for this, he has to console Hilda first. "Hey, Hilda. Don't blame yourself, it's not your fault."
"R-really?"
Anthony wiped Hilda's tears. "Yeah. I can't believe Trevor overreacted like that. It upsets me that he hurt you even though you had no bad intentions. The point is, you shouldn't let that guy hurt you."
Hilda sniffed as she curled up into a ball. Anthony felt bad for his friend. Although the two felt like they had just met, the boy knew the girl was special since she stuck up for him when he was down.
"Hey, you are a great person. And Trevor is a stupid idiot. If anything, you have nothing to apologize for. Don't listen to what Trevor claims."
Hilda still felt sad about what Trevor did to her. Anthony decided to give the crying Hilda a hug. Hilda softly gasped as this happened. It was a tight and warm embrace, like how she hugged him in comfort the first time they met. Hilda is now in peace, no longer being sad about what happened. Anthony is now pleased that his friend is no longer depressed. He felt pride in cheering her up. After Anthony comforted Hilda, she gave him a big hug.
"Thanks, Anthony," Hilda whispered.
"Any time, friend," Anthony replied.
Hilda got up and waved goodbye before going back to her apartment in relief. Anthony started his journey home until something fell out of his jacket. Curious, the boy picked up. He blew on it to get rid of the dust and the item cleared up. The boy gasped seeing it.
A few years ago…
A young Anthony was in front of a driveway. He was holding two photos. "Let's make a promise; every time we look at these photos, we'll think of each other," Anthony handed one of the photos to a young girl before he walked back to his mother. "That way, I'll never forget you, and you'll never forget me."
While he held on to his photo, Anthony and his mother got into their car and drove away.
Present day…
Anthony felt sad as he held on to the item. It was the same photo he held onto years ago. He griped on it tight as tears threatened to escape his eyes. The boy looked at Trolberg as the sun began to set.
