Trade

allywolf5 asked for a oneshot of Neal and Rosie finding out about a really traumatic childhood event in Emma's life and try to fix it. Marina Ka-Fai I've combined your request in here.

Rumple looked up when he heard the little chime of the bell at his shop's door. He was confused when at first it appeared to have opened by itself. But then he looked down and saw two children. One clutching a stuffed bear and the other a stuffed dog. He recognised them as Snow and Charming's little ones.

"I don't believe you should be going anywhere without an adult." He said coldly, not sure how to deal with children.

"We've read about you in Henry's storybook." The oldest one, Neal he believed his name was, told him, taking the girl's hand and moving closer. They could only be about six and four a piece. "We know you do deals with people for important things. We want to make a trade." Rumple couldn't hide his amusement at the boldness of the lad.

"Really dearie? And what would we be trading and why are we trading it?" He asked, having no intention of making any deals with the pair. Neal held out his bear.

"This is Gerber." He announced. His little sister, Rosie Rumple believed she was called, held up her dog.

"This is Donuts." She said in a small voice.

"They're our favourite toys. We love them lots and lots, but we love our big sister more. We heard Emma telling mommy and daddy about some of the people who were mean to her growing up. She didn't get to grow up with mommy and daddy like we did because she had to break the curse. But the curse is all broken now, so Emma should get another chance to grow up with mommy and daddy like us. But we know that will take some very strong magic, so we thought we'd speak to you. We will trade Gerber and Donuts for Emma to get to grow up happily." Even Rumple's cold heart was slightly thawed by the sweetness of the boy. But no matter how sweet he was, there was nothing that could be done to reverse time for Emma to grow up with her parents.

"Children, I'm sorry but I can't do that, nobody can." Rumple couldn't help but hate the way their faces fell.

"Your sister might not have grown up with your parents like you two, but she is happy now, isn't she? Take comfort in that." Neal and Rosie nodded glumly, not really feeling much better about it at all as they left the shop. Rumplestiltskin watched them go sadly, he truly wished he was able to help them.
