Red as a Rose

They stared in awe at the gardens before them, with a bevy of flowers as far as the eye could see, and just in time for spring.
Téa knelt down in front of a bush full of red roses, taking in the color and splendor. She breathed in the fresh scent and she exhaled, a smile growing on her face. She had always wanted to show Serenity this wonderful place, and today, she saw her chance and took it.
Serenity knelt down next to her, and she gazed upon the roses, tilting her head back. She never thought she would be able to see such a lovely sight again, when her eyesight was failing, she was sure she never would again. But now, she wanted to see anything and everything, and with Téa by her side, she knew she could do so.
Serenity turned away from the roses, looking at Téa, and with her heart skipping a beat, she leaned in, and kissed the other girl on the cheek.
Téa felt her cheeks grow hot, her attention away from the flowers, and her eyes looked to see Serenity kissing her on the cheek. Her lips were soft on her face, tender and playful, almost.
Serenity gasped, pulling away from Téa, standing upright, her face red as a rose. After a small moment, she couldn't help but let out a light giggle.
Téa blinked, standing up as well, her face just as red. As soon as she opened her mouth to say something, she smiled, joining Serenity in laughter.
They then grasped each other's hands, and Téa leaned in closer, kissing Serenity full on the lips, with Serenity returning the gesture.
In just one moment, they were closer than ever before.
