Look for the Light

For as long as Ishizu could remember, she was always in the dark. She could never venture into the outside world, never far from her home underground. Once she had seen the bright sun, she never wanted to go back to the darkness, but she had to. She had to ensure her family legacy, but she wished for the light.
Mai was used to being alone, in a big house, on her own path to greatness. Once she ventured too far from home, she fell into the never-ending pitch-black. She was alone, she was used to such feelings, but she still yearned for the light.
Hands reached out, and they grasped each other's, walking out of the dark that were everlasting. The light was almost blinding, but they did not care.
Mai pulled Ishizu towards her, her arms embracing, gentle yet strong. Ishizu buried her face in the other woman's neck, the scent of sweet jasmine just lovely. Mai couldn't help but smile, as Ishizu wrapped her arms around her form, slowly and assuredly.
They stood in the doorway of their new home, their own place, and it was their place. The sun shone through the windows, and its warmth cascaded over them.
They looked for the light, and it was there for them, now and for all time.
