Keeping her close
Amy asked for a oneshot of Emma and Snow staying in a hotel room where there is only one bed. Emma is really against sharing a bed with her mom but Snow manages to convince her. Snow wakes up in the middle of the night with Emma's arms wrapped around her and clinging to her shirt and snuggling into her chest.
"Well, the receptionist told me they're fully booked so we have to stay here. I'm looking around for any nearby hotels we can stay in. Why did I agree to help Lily look for her dad..."
"Emma, relax. It's just one night. Besides, you didn't seem to mind when you were in my stomach." Emma rolled her eyes.
"Really? Using being a foetus against me? That's low, mom. Sorry, but I need my personal space. You take the bed, I'll curl up on the chair. I've slept in worse places."
"Emma, don't be so immature about this. It's one night and the bed's massive. We'll be sleeping on opposite sides, you won't be touching me at all." Emma still seemed reluctant, she wasn't exactly a touchy feely person. Snow got into her side and glanced at the free side. "Come on, it's a lot comfier than that chair."
"Oh alright fine." Emma grumbled. "But stick to your own side." Snow rolled her eyes.
"I have no intention of bursting your bubble Emma." Snow promised her. The pair were both exhausted from finding Lily's dad and convincing him to go to Storybrooke. They were both already falling asleep. "Night Emma." Snow murmured sleepily. She got an incoherent mumble in reply that she didn't have a chance to try and make out before both were fast asleep.
Snow woke up several hours later with a hefty weight covering her torso. Still dazed from sleep, Snow looked down wearily to see what- or who- was there. The light from the streetlight outside was just strong enough for Snow to make out the messy blond curls strewn over her. Snow's heart warmed at the sight. Emma may put up a fight, but in her subconscious state she just wanted something she'd never gotten the chance to receive as a child- her mother's comfort. Emma's head was nuzzled against Snow's chest, her arms on either side of Snow clutching at the fabric of her pyjama top.
"Oh sweetheart." Snow murmured quietly, kissing the top of Emma's head. She couldn't let this moment go undocumented. She untangled one of her arms from under Emma and leaned across slowly to get her phone. Even the small movement caused Emma to tighten her grip on Snow and make a small noise of discontentment. "It's alright." Snow whispered, just managing to clutch her fingers around the phone. "I'm here, I'm not leaving." Snow managed to free her other hand from underneath Emma. She used one hand to shield Emma's eyes while she used the other to take a photo of the sweet moment. Afterwards, she manoeuvred to Snapchat and took an identical picture to send to Charming.
Our girl x was the little caption she put underneath. She was surprised to see the picture get opened straight away. Snow wasn't, however, surprised to see that her husband screenshotted the picture. This was explained a minute later by Snow being sent a picture of Neal snuggled up on Charming's chest.
Our boy x was the little caption given. Snow's heart swelled at the adorableness of the picture, and screenshotted her picture too. Her phone buzzed again, this time from a text that Charming sent her.
What happened? Did you give her meth? Give our girl a kiss from me. We both look forward to having you two home tomorrow x
Of course not! What kind of mother do you take me for? I gave her crack cocaine, only the best drugs to force intimacy from our daughter! Will do, give my little boy a kiss from mama. See you both tomorrow x
Snow then placed her phone back down and wrapped her arms around Emma, her baby girl. She wished she could share pictures of Emma like the one she had just taken on Facebook and Instagram like she did with Neal. But she knew Emma would kill her. She would settle for a private Snapchat with Charming and being happy that it happened. Snow used her now free arms to wrap around Emma, pressing a small kiss to the top of her head.
"Sleep tight, baby girl. Mama's here." Snow whispered, able to drift back off herself with her little girl safe in her arms, where Snow always wanted both of her children.
