Hi everyone! I'm back with a FFXIV one shot based on mine and my boyfriend's characters! I hope you enjoy the following story!
"I never should have brought Sam here" Thought Bettis as she and Sam were fighting for their lives against a powerful golem, one that was giving even her trouble.
"Sam run get to the exit! I'll cover you!" Said Bettis,her strong New York like accent showing, as she tried to get Sam to run to the exit while she distracted the monster but Sam stubbornly stayed, not wanting to leave her wife alone with this monster for long.
Sam shook her head, a hand on her side concealing a wound that she doesn't want Bettis to know about "Sorry love, I can't do that. If you won't leave then I'm not leaving" she proclaimed, her British accent very noticeable, a slight pain in her voice
Bettis shook her head, knowing that nothing short of herself leaving could make Sam leave. She then focused on the monster, focusing on her spells in order to increase their damage
It took a while but eventually the golem was defeated, and Sam celebrated the small victory while Bettis kept a look out for whoever spawned that golem, knowing that something that powerful was spawned..
Sadly that would prove to be a fatal mistake on Sam's part as a masked man appeared behind Sam and stabbed her through the back, enticing a scream from her which caused Bettis to turn around and cause her eyes to widen in shock. She screamed in rage and went to attack the masked man when he disappeared again with a cocky grin and a wave.
Bettis then dropped to the ground and held Sam close, cursing herself for not knowing any healing spells. She help her wife in her arms, tears falling down her face. Sam looked up at Bettis weakly and smiled sadly
"e...end of the road huh?" She asked Bettis, crying softly as she knew that the wound was fatal
"no! We can do something, I can get you to a healer or so-" Bettis stopped talking after Sam put a hand on her mouth
"baby stop...we both know that this ...can't be fixed...g-got me through the heart" Sam said, her blood starting to pool around her as her skin starts to lose its color, her eyes starting to glaze over.
This caused Bettis to start crying and cry hard, knowing that this is her last moments with her lover. Sam placed a hand on Bettis pretty face and wiped away the tears, not wanting the last thing she sees is Bettis crying
"D...don't cry my love...you made me...made me so happy...I love you" and with that, Sam Wattson was no more. Just a memory in people's minds and a love so strong that it hurts for Bettis.
Epilogue
It has been many years since the death of Sam, Bettis never truly recovered from the loss of Sam. She quit adventuring and never found another lover, always saying that her heart and soul belonged to Sam
Soon Bettis passed away from old age, as soon as her eyes closed they opened back up to a familiar face with a smile that could melt hearts and the person said "Did ya miss me?"
