Keeping her close- part 2

A couple of people have asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch819 "Keeping her close". I've tried my best to incorporate everything everyone wanted!

Emma woke up not long after Snow had fallen asleep. She was also confused to find herself not in the position she'd fallen asleep in. She also panicked slightly to find someone's arms around her, until she remembered where she was and who she was with. She knew that she should move away, but she couldn't bring herself to do it, not yet. Her biological clock would wake her up before her mom, right? She felt safe, wanted. Something she'd never experienced as a child. She would just allow herself another couple of hours.

Emma found herself coming to again. She blinked her eyes open to see daylight flooding into the room.

"Morning sleepyhead." Emma heard her mom murmur. Emma froze, she'd overslept. She'd let her mom find out (of course she didn't know her mom had been aware before she was). "I didn't want to get up, you seemed comfy."

"You should have moved." Emma said coldly, her walls shooting back up. Her mom was probably pitying her. The thirty year old who wanted to cuddle with her mom. She pushed herself off and moved to the other side of the bed, keeping her back to Snow. She stiffened when she felt her mom's hand on her shoulder. Of course Snow knew what was going on, she knew Emma better than Emma gave her credit for.

"Emma, don't get upset with yourself." Snow said warmly. "It doesn't matter. So what you cuddled me in your sleep? Emma, you're my daughter. If you want to hug me you hug me." Emma could feel her walls lowering slightly, and Snow could feel it too. "We all need comfort sometimes, its nature. Emma, I'm never going to let you down again. It's ok to trust me." Emma didn't know what to think. She found it hard to trust and let her walls down completely. Every time your heart was broken the pieces got smaller and harder to fit back together. It was safer to not give people the chance…but Emma didn't want to feel alone anymore.

"I woke up in the middle of the night." Emma said quietly. "And I didn't move, because I felt safe with you."

"Good." Snow said encouragingly. "I'm glad you feel safe with me. I want to make you feel safe, both your dad and I do." Emma knew either she did it now or she never would. She suddenly turned round and returned back to her mom's arms. Snow gasped slightly, not expecting Emma to come around so quickly, but she wrapped her arms around Emma again before she had the chance to change her mind.

"You tell anyone I like hugging you I'll deny it. I have a reputation to uphold." Snow laughed.

"It's ok, your secret is safe with me. Oh well, minus one person." Snow kissed the top of Emma's head. "Your dad asked me to give you that from him." Emma groaned, embarrassed.

"Dad knows?"

"Come on honey, he's your dad. He's just as psyched as I am that you're finally letting those walls down."

"Oh alright fine dad can know. But nobody else." Emma grumbled. Snow smiled, subconsciously rocking slightly with Emma as she normally did when she hugged her, just her motherly instinct kicking in. Emma might be all grown up, but she'd always be Snow's baby.
