(A/N: All right, here's an idea that comes from "Super Mario RPG". It takes place after the events of the game, and it was suggested (not requested) to me by a friend on deviantART who goes by the pen name estherandstanley. Now let's get this fanfic started so you can see what happens!)

It was February 14th in the Mushroom Kingdom. Yes, the day was also known as Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year, and a perfect day for a wedding. Speaking of weddings, this story takes place in Marrymore, where weddings are all the rage, so why don't we head on over there and see what's up? There may actually be a wedding in progress as we speak.

We arrive at the large resort to find that there is indeed a wedding in progress right now, and... hold the phone! The couple standing at the altar... they look familiar to me! Is that...? Holy crap, it is! It's Mario and Princess Peach! They're getting married! Aw, shoot! We missed the beginning of their wedding!

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife! You may kiss the bride!" the Chancellor said to the happy couple standing before him.

Mario and Peach smiled brightly at each other, then closed their eyes and leaned in to kiss each other. This was the kiss that would make their union official.

But Peach quickly learned that something was off the moment her lips met Mario's. His lips were usually soft and warm against hers, and whenever he kissed her, she could feel his love for her. The lips she kissed were very dry, and it felt like they were surrounded by disgustingly greasy hair. Even worse, she didn't feel any love in this kiss! What the heck happened? Who had she kissed?

Peach quickly broke off the kiss and opened her eyes to see who she had kissed, if it wasn't Mario. Well, what she saw scared her so badly that she let out a piercing scream of terror! It turned out that the lips she had kissed belonged to none other than... BOOSTER!

"Hey, baby-doll! Do you remember me?" Booster asked in happiness, looking up at Peach with a big, scary smile on his ugly mug.

"No! Not you! You can't be here! You're not supposed to be here! You were banned from Marrymore! There was a story about it in the newspaper last month!" Peach gasped, not wanting to believe that he was here, that she had kissed him. She felt like she was going to need to gargle with a whole bottle of Listerine.

"Whoa! You bought it?! I can't believe you actually fell for that lie!" Booster exclaimed.

"That story was a lie?" Peach asked, her head spinning. She didn't ever believe that the Mushroom Kingdom Gazette would contain a big, fat lie about something as serious as somebody like Booster being banished from someplace. This could not be happening!

"You better believe it was, sweetheart!" Booster began.

"Don't you dare call me 'sweetheart'! I'm not your sweetheart, and I never will be! You should know that I hate you as much as I hate Bowser!" Peach yelled at him.

"Whatever." Booster muttered.

"Why are you here?! Why did you write that lie in the paper?!" Peach almost screamed.

"Well, after all was said and done, I realized during our time together that you obviously had some serious feelings for that Mario guy." Booster began.

"You got that right!" Peach told him.

"The thought of you loving him more than you did me was sickening! It made me so mad, I knew I had to do something to try and get you back. So, with a little help from my Snifsters, I wrote that story in an attempt to lull both of you into a false sense of security so you might think of getting married here. And it actually worked!" the filthy freak boasted.

"But... we didn't even go by your place on the way here for fear of running into you and having you find out what we were up to! King and Queen Nimbus heard all about you and your treachery from Mallow, and so they agreed to help us out! They sent the royal bus to my castle and instructed the driver to take me and Mario to Marrymore as soon as we boarded!" Peach said.

"I didn't see you, but what you didn't count on was the fact that my Snifsters saw you and the other people you were with (except for the monster) entering the inn the other day..." Booster began.

"Bowser's not here because he wasn't invited! And neither were you!" Peach interrupted him. She didn't like to interrupt people unless they were evil.

"Too bad." Booster said, before saying, "Now where was I? Oh yeah! Then my Snifsters saw you on your way here this morning. So I knew that you were mine for the taking!"

"No! I swear by the Stars that I won't allow a disgusting piece of filth like you take me away from Mario again!" Peach exclaimed. That's when she suddenly remembered her beloved groom, and she cried, "Oh my gosh! Mario! Where is he?! What did you to him?!"

"Oh yeah! My Snifsters took care of him while he was distracted by you! When we get back to my tower, they're going to make short work of him, and we can watch!" said Booster, pointing in the direction of the exit. Peach looked in that direction and gasped in horror as she saw the Snifsters dragging an unconscious Mario out of the resort.

"NO! Please don't do this! Have a heart! Wake Mario up and bring him back here! He has to kiss me, the bride! He's my husband! You can't take him away from me!" Peach shouted at the black-clad Snifits. But the Snifsters were deaf to her pleas.

"They can't hear you, darling!" Booster started.

"Don't you ever call me 'darling' again!" Peach thundered. Only Mario could call her that, and he did it whenever he called her 'cara mia', which was Italian for 'my darling'.

"I told them not to listen to any lies you might try to feed them! They listen to me, and me alone! Now come with me to my tower so we can have a proper wedding over there!" Booster said, putting the upset princess on his back and making off with her.

"No! NO! LET ME GO! HELP! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!" Peach screamed, thrashing about, trying to escape from Booster.

Suddenly, Peach felt someone shaking her by the shoulder, and the princess quickly opened her eyes and sat bolt upright to find that she was not in Marrymore, and not on Booster's back, but in a place that was very dark and very quiet. She could not see anything, or hear anything, and that was even more terrifying for her.

"Wh-where a-a-am I?" Peach asked in a shaky voice, shaking like a Super Leaf as she pulled the covers closer to her in fear.

"Take it easy, Peach. You're safe. You're at Marrymore's inn, with me." a familiar voice right next to her replied.

Peach recognized that voice right away, and she started to breathe easily. She felt more at ease in the company of someone she knew. She said, "Daisy, i-is that you?"

"Yes, Peach, it's me." Daisy said, turning on the lamp by the bed so Peach could see her.

Peach was momentarily blinded when the light came on. She cried out and covered her face with the sheets to try and recover from the sudden light. After a minute or two, she slowly took her face out of the covers, looked around the room, and then she saw her favorite cousin, Princess Daisy of Sarasaland, sitting up next to her, much to her relief.

(A/N: I know Daisy wasn't in the game, but I wanted to add her to this story.)

"Are you going to be okay?" Daisy asked, looking at her frightened cousin with concern written all over her pretty face.

"Oh, thank Grambi you're here..." Peach murmured in relief as she gave Daisy a big hug and burst out crying into her shoulder, which greatly surprised the tomboy princess.

"Peach, what's the matter?" Daisy asked, now even more concerned as she returned Peach's hug and rubbed her back in a comforting way.

"Oh, Daisy! I... I-I had the most horrible n-n-nightmare!" Peach wept.

"Aww... I figured that's what was going on when I heard you screaming. As soon as I heard that, I immediately woke up and started shaking you to try and snap you out of it." Daisy said.

"Oh no! I-I'm sorry, Daisy... I didn't m-mean to ruin your s-sleep..." Peach sobbed.

"Hey, I'm not mad at you, Peach. Just worried now. Something was obviously upsetting you, and I want to know what it was so I can help you feel better." Daisy said as she let go of Peach and freed herself from her hold. She walked over to the bathroom to get some tissues. Then she walked back to the bed and handed the tissues to her upset cousin.

"Thanks." Peach said as she dried her eyes and blew her nose.

"So, you were having a nightmare. After everything you've been through in life, I can't really say that I'm surprised. But what was it about? Can you tell me?" Daisy asked Peach in a quiet, gentle voice. It was the same voice she would use with Luigi whenever he was feeling sorry and sad and needed her to comfort him.

"I... I dreamed that it was t-tomorrow..." Peach began.

"If you're referring to your wedding day, Peach, it's already after midnight. So tomorrow is today." Daisy told her. She'd looked at the digital alarm clock on the nightstand and saw that it was at least 12:15 a.m.

"Oh..." said Peach. She hadn't looked at the digital clock, because Daisy was the one who was sleeping next to the nightstand, with Peach at her other side.

"Okay, so I was dreaming about... what's going to happen... today." Peach replied.

"Ah, so you were dreaming about the wedding. Well, I guess that's understandable, given that it's less than 24 hours from now. Okay, let's hear about the big event in your dream! How did it go?" Daisy asked, eager for the details.

"Everything was going so well, Daisy. We were all in the resort, Mario and I were together, and the Chancellor had just pronounced us husband and wife! I was so happy!" Peach said.

"I know, Peach. You're looking forward to hearing the Chancellor say those words just as much as Mario is. In fact, I think we're all looking forward to that moment." Daisy said with a knowing smile on her lips.

"But when it came time for Mario to kiss the bride... we both leaned in... and I thought I was kissing him... but I quickly realized that the lips I felt against mine didn't feel soft and warm, like Mario's... I didn't even feel... any love in that kiss." Peach said.

"You mean to say that you weren't kissing Mario? How could that be?" Daisy asked.

"Because... I-I had my eyes closed when I leaned in to k-kiss Mario... so I d-didn't really see what had h-happened to him. I quickly broke off the kiss... a-and when I looked at the m-man that I had kissed... he turned out to be none other than... BOOSTER!" Peach wailed, crying into the tissues again.

"Booster?! Isn't he that ugly, hairy little freak you were telling me about? The guy you hate more than Bowser? The same guy who also happens to be a few chicken nuggets shy of a Happy Meal?" Daisy asked, trying to help Peach feel a little better.

"Y-yes...!" Peach said with a sniffle.

"But didn't you tell me a month ago that there was a story in the newspaper saying that he was banished from this place?" Daisy asked.

"I-I did... I reminded him of th-that... But he... he s-said that the story was a lie, Daisy! He told me... that he only m-made up that s-story... to try and get me and M-Mario... to decide that it was s-safe for us... to get m-married here! A-and it worked! Wh-what am I gonna do?! I-it's too late for us to... change the location of the w-wedding!" Peach wailed.

"Peach, if you were having a dream, then I think there's a pretty good chance that Booster didn't make up the story; that it was as real as the love you and Mario feel for each other. Weren't there any pictures with the story to confirm that his banishment was real?" Daisy asked.

"Now that you mention it, yes. There was a picture from the wedding he interrupted when he tried to marry me, and I also saw a picture of the one he had interrupted to marry some floozy..." Peach began.

"Wait, he actually got married?" Daisy asked.

"I... I don't know. He didn't even marry me. He hate the cake and left me." Peach said.

"Huh. If he didn't marry you, then the floozy probably divorced him, if the minister even pronounced them husband and wife, that is." Daisy said.

(A/N: Booster marries Valentina (the floozy) at the end of the game, but we can assume that he interrupted another wedding in order to do it. I also think Booster's marriage to Valentina didn't even last a day, due to the fact that he was running away from her like a scared little wuss. It's obvious he doesn't seem to understand that marriage involves a couple living together after the fact.)

"You may be right, because there was another picture of him with some other dame, only they were being forcibly removed from the resort by an angry-looking couple in wedding attire. The caption of that photo said that the angry couple had been in the process of getting married when he rushed in and tried to throw them out. That had to explain why they were angry." Peach recalled.

"There you have it, Peach. The article had pictures to accompany it, and they never lie. If that's the case, then the story you read about Booster being banned from here is as real as the love that you and Mario share." Daisy assured her cousin with a smile of reassurance. But then she lost the smile and asked, "How did you end up kissing that little freak, anyway?"

"His awful henchmen, which are black-clad Snifits known as Snifsters, had knocked Mario out cold before I kissed him. That's how I ended up kissing the wrong guy!" Peach said.

"Well, there's no way those little dweebs are going to show up and ruin your special day for real. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for them. Let me tell you right now that if I see them hanging around, then I'll be ready to let 'em have it. They're going to regret coming here." Daisy said, cracking her knuckles.

"You won't let them ruin the wedding?" Peach asked.

"If they show up and try anything, I won't let them get within 10 feet of you or Mario, Peach. And you know that Luigi will be there, too, and because he's as much of a hero as Mario is, he can help me hold them off. Both of you going to be okay at the wedding." said Daisy, giving her cousin a reassuring hug.

"I'm really glad you're here to help me right now, Daisy." Peach said, returning her hug.

"Well, I don't like to see you miserable, Peach. And neither does Mario. Now we've got to try and get back to sleep so you'll look and feel well-rested when it comes time for you to marry the sweet plumber you love so much." Daisy said as she turned off the lamp.

"You're right." Peach said as she slowly laid back down. But she was afraid to close her eyes and let sleep reclaim her. What if she ended up going back into her nightmare? She didn't want that!

Daisy could sense that Peach was afraid of going back to sleep, for fear of finding herself in the disgusting clutches that Booster idiot again.

"I think I know what might help you feel safer." Daisy said. She wrapped her arms around Peach in a hug, saying, "There. Now let's see that nasty ol' Booster try to get to you when you've got me, your cousin who knows self-defense, right here to protect you."

"I'd like to see you mess him up. But hopefully not during the wedding or reception. I really don't need that aggravation on my wedding day, which is also the most romantic day of the year." Peach said.

"I totally understand, Peach. I really don't want to be getting into a fight with anyone on a romantic day like Valentine's Day, either. But if that creep decides to show his ugly face to you again when I'm around, all you have to do is point it out to me. When you do, I can make it look even uglier so he will be stunningly scary, ruining his chances for possible love." Daisy said.

Peach giggled a little and said, "You got it, Daisy."

"All right. That's what I wanted to hear from you." Daisy said, referring to Peach's giggle. Then she said, "Okay. Now let's get some more shut-eye, or else we're going to look awful when it comes time for the wedding, and that's not a good thing, because princesses have to look their absolute best for special occasions and the happiest day of your life is a very special occasion."

"You're right about that. Thank you so much for helping me, Daisy." Peach said as she closed her eyes and allowed sleep to claim her.

"No problem, Peach. You know that I'm willing to help you whenever I can. But that's going to be Mario's job after you guys say 'I do' tomorrow." Daisy said as she went back to sleep.

And that's where Chapter 1 is going to end! Yes, this fanfic is going to be a chapter story, so if you wish to read on, you might want to stay tuned for Chapter 2!
