When Bazeema and Simon had told Bisu that he was going to have a little brother or sister, they could already see how excited he was, much to their relief. He did pout a little when they told him that he needed to be careful around his mother especially when she began to show and that he needed to help out more whenever when Simon wasn't around to do so.

'I didn't know I'd have to do that,' Bisu finally said.

'Well, what we know is that you won't let us down, sweetie,' Bazeema said, looking down at her son, love and pride reflecting into her eyes.

'You've never done it so far, buddy,' Simon added, picking up Bisu.

'Then I will keep going,' Bisu said, nodding.

'You are going to be such a wonderful big brother,' Bazeema said, ruffling Bisu's hair.

Bisu had indeed made his parents proud after that. He and of course Simon had helped Bazeema out whenever she needed something. Bisu would get scared whenever Bazeema became nauseous but that was when Simon stepped in.

The first few months had flown by without any sort of troubles for the family. And one morning, when Simon and Bazeema were waking up, Simon had lowered his gaze to Bazeema's stomach and then his eyes lit up then he had looked up at Bazeema and said the words that always made his wife tear up from happiness.

'The baby's starting to grow, sweetheart,' Simon said, also shedding a few tears.

When Bisu had seen his mother's stomach swell out with his younger sibling inside, he was curious and had asked so many questions, which his parents were happy to answer. At one point, Bisu had crawled up onto Bazeema's lap then looked up at her, slightly concerned.

'What does it feel like to have the baby growing, Mommy?' Bisu asked.

Bazeema giggled then she had grabbed onto Simon's hand and had placed it against the small bump of her stomach then Bisu and then her own, then she had looked over at Bisu, glowing more than ever before.

'Wonderful. Nothing but wonderful,' Bazeema said, softly.

When Bazeema began to have strange cravings, Bisu had again asked a lot of questions, but his parents were always patient with him. Things however did become a bit more stressful when Bazeema's mood swings had become known.

One day, Simon had returned home to find, much to his concern, Bazeema in tears and the bottom of her dress covered in flour. Simon quickly made his way over and had hugged Bazeema, gently rubbing her back.

'My love, what happened?'

Bazeema sniffled then looked up at Simon, her face tear-streaked. Simon's concern had grown. Whatever it was, it must have been really, really awful. She never looked this upset when she was carrying Bisu.

'It's alright, tell me and I'll fix it,' Simon assured his wife.

'I was...making some cookies. Bisu, he came running inside after playing. As I was pouring the flour into the bowl, he accidentally bumped into me and...the flour spilled over. I...I yelled at him, Simon. I yelled at our baby!' Bazeema cried.

Simon looked surprised but only for a second then had cupped Bazeema's face then gently wiped away her fresh fallen tears then had kissed her then wiped away a few more of her tears.

'Hey, hey. It's alright. I know you didn't mean to. Sweetheart, I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt Bisu.'

Simon looked down at Bazeema's now 6-month belly then had placed his hands against it, stroking it, then had looked back up at Bazeema, giving her another kiss.

'You're only pregnant.'

'I...I tried to tell our bright star all about that but...he...he ran off,' Bazeema said, sniffling.

'It's alright. I'll look for him.'

Simon led Bazeema over to a chair by the table then helped her sit down. After kissing her forehead, he'd gone to search for Bisu. He knew he wouldn't go far since he'd never go anywhere within Rosa without him and Bazeema at his side.

Simon looked around outside of the cottage then he had heard faint sniffling coming from behind the log pile. Simon knew exactly who was behind there. He sighed then had gone over to where the logs were then was met with a very painful sight.

He saw Bisu huddling his knees together, his face, also tear-streaked. His small body shaking. He didn't know whether it was from the coldness of the night beginning to set in or if he was scared. All he knew was that his boy needed him.

'Bisu? Buddy?' Simon called out.

Bisu looked over at his father, his lips trembling, tears starting to well into his eyes. He looked over at the window behind him then back over to Simon.

'Mommy yelled at me, Daddy,' Bisu whimpered out.

'I know, Mommy told me everything,' Simon replied.

'Does she hate me?'

Those words made Simon hurt inside. Bisu was feeling exactly what Bazeema was fearing. He hated seeing his family this way. If only he could've helped...

When Bisu continued whimpering, Simon wiped away his own tears then had sat down beside Bisu. He then held out his arms.

'Come here.'

And that was all it had taken for Bisu to start crying then he had jumped into Simon's arms, hugging him, clutching onto him, crying and crying. Simon cradled Bisu close to him, running his hand against his hair then had kissed the top of his head.

'It's alright, it's alright. I'm here,' Simon murmured to Bisu.

'I didn't mean to, Daddy.'

'I know, I know. And your Mommy knows too.'

'She...she doesn't hate me?' Bisu sniffled.

Simon sighed heavily, his features still softened, then he had placed Bisu onto his lap, continuing his task of rocking him, then had looked down at him as his tears began to come to a stop.

'Of course she doesn't. Sweetheart, you've been our bright star from the moment we first held you, we could never stop loving you. Mommy had only yelled because she is carrying your sibling. She used to yell at me all the time when you were inside of her.'

'She did?' Bisu asked, looking surprised.

'She did but she didn't stop loving me either. She is just very fragile now.'

'Like she could break?' Bisu asked, frowning in concern.

'Only one part of her is breaking. Her heart, because she feels so bad about scolding you,' Simon said, wiping away one of Bisu's tears.

'Did I make her cry? I didn't mean to.'

Simon had hugged Bisu again. After calming him down for a second time, Simon had then kissed his forehead twice, then he had stood up and grabbed onto Bisu's hand.

'Are you ready to go inside and apologize to Mommy now?' Simon asked.

Bisu nodded then had clutched onto Simon's hand, leaning close to him, as they had gone back inside the cottage. Bazeema looked up and saw her two men standing there. Simon knelt down then had gently nudged Bisu ahead. Bisu had walked over to Bazeema then placed his hands onto her lap, looking up at her, trying to look brave.

'I'm...I'm sorry Mommy.'

Bazeema smiled then had picked up Bisu then had hugged him and kissed him. Bisu had smiled back then wrapped his arms around his mother's neck and kissed her cheek.

'And I'm sorry too, baby.'

'It's okay. You're only having my baby brother or sister.'

Bazeema and Simon had laughed then Simon had gone over to join his family, hugging them both close to him. It was not always going to be an easy road as the months would continue and Bazeema and Simon weren't aware this was only the beginning.
