A Sol III Lamentation
I love a sun-scorched homeworld.
Of radioactive sand.
An Eden now made lifeless,
By the malignant touch of Man.
…
I love the world she once was.
Of blues and whites and green.
A world forever lost to us,
Now only living in our dreams.
…
Man's spread o'er field of stars,
Through mastery of science.
Against the dangers of the void,
We all stand in defiance.
…
And yet some still remember Earth,
World of grass and ice and flood.
For we still are Terra's children,
And her breath is in our blood.
