All night gaming binge

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma is still asleep at four pm and Snow, wondering if she's under a sleeping curse, goes up to check on her. She finds out Emma was up all night trying to beat a boss on a video game. When Emma finally wakes up, she discovers Neal deleted her save file. I've changed the age difference between Emma and Neal from around 30 years to 8 years.

"Has she really not come down?" Snow asked, glancing up to the ceiling. "I know she's sixteen and they're world renowned for taking the mick when it comes to lie ins but Emma's really going for it here. You haven't heard her get up to use the bathroom or seen her grab something to eat?" Charming shook his head.

"Nope. Nothing." Snow's mind started racing with all kinds of bad possibilities. She knew Emma hated being disturbed in her room, but right now her rage was a risk worth taking.

"You don't think she's been put under a sleeping curse, do you?" She asked tentatively. "We still have a lot of enemies out there, and Emma doesn't have a true love yet. What if they've done this to kill her?"

"Snow, calm down. I'm sure nobody snuck into Emma's room in the middle of the night and pricked her finger on a needle. But go upstairs and enter her chamber of grumpiness to check for yourself if you dare."

"Oh I dare. Nobody puts my baby in a sleeping curse." Snow said, quickly making her way up the stairs and into Emma's room. She found Emma lying on her bed in the starfish position, as she normally was. Her breathing sounded even enough, which would indicate that she hadn't been put under a sleeping curse. Even so, Snow crept forward and gently shook Emma. "Emma," she whispered "are you alright?"

"Hmm?" Emma said, not opening her eyes. "What's wrong?" Snow couldn't believe it, she had just been sleeping all this time?!

"Emma it's four in the afternoon!" Snow said, exasperated. "You're never going to sleep tonight now. I thought you'd been put under a sleeping curse."

"What? Mom, that's ridiculous." Emma grumbled, pushing herself into a sitting position. "I just got a bit carried away with my game last night. I refused to sleep until I defeated Ripper Roo. I eventually did at six this morning and have been sleeping ever since."

"Emma, I'm speechless. I cannot believe you're showing so much dedication to a stupid video game. If you put this much effort into your studies then…"

"Right, I get it!" Emma said, now woken up enough to be moody. Snow rolled her eyes.

"Well don't expect breakfast, or really dinner now, in bed from me. And don't expect any sympathy when you're up all night tonight either." Snow said, storming out of the room. Emma let everything her mom had said go in one ear and out the other as she plugged in her PlayStation to do the next level…only to find that the slot that used to say Emma on the menu screen now said Neal. Snow and Charming were sure the whole town would have heard Emma scream. They both rushed upstairs to her room, worried she'd hurt herself.

"Emma, what's wrong?" Charming asked, alarmed.

"Neal!" Emma screeched. "He's been in here while I slept and deleted my save file! I was up all night for nothing!" Charming gulped, knowing that crazed look in his daughter's eyes all too well. Charming turned on his heel and grabbed Snow's hand, running downstairs with her.

"Neal, we're going to the park!" He called to his son, figuring it was better if he wasn't around his sister right now. He could be punished for going into her room without permission and deleting her save file later when Emma wasn't going to strangle him. Maybe an afternoon away wasn't enough. "Why don't we call Mr and Mrs Ford and see if you can have a sleepover with Drew tonight?"

"Cool!" Neal said, oblivious to his sister's mood. Snow and Charming bustled Neal out of the house.

"We'll be gone for a few hours and Neal's not staying at home tonight!" Charming called behind them as they left. "There's chocolate in the cupboard. Help yourself!" He figured her dental health could be put at risk for one day if it prevented a full scale Emma meltdown. Those were worse than any monster Charming had ever faced back home.
