Animal friends
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma getting lost in the woods while chasing a bad guy. A rattlesnake bites her and she panics. She sits on a log and cries until she feels something nudge her shoulder, it's a doe. She looks up to find lots of forest animals surrounding her. They help her find a way out of the woods. Meanwhile, a bird went ahead to fetch Snow, who is being led to Emma to take her to hospital.
"Dammit, dammit, dammit!" Emma yelled. The vein in her ankle was now throbbing horribly. She couldn't even weight-bear anymore. She slumped down on a nearby log with her face in her hands and cried. The robber had gotten away and now she was lost, and scared for her life. She didn't even know Storybrooke had snakes at all let alone rattlesnakes. "What am I going to do now?" Emma whimpered. All she could do was sit there and pray that help came.
It was just a couple of minutes later that Emma felt what she thought was a person nudging her shoulder. She turned round, thinking help had arrived, to find that it was a doe, a deer, a female deer (AN I'm sorry for that, but I couldn't help myself). Emma nearly fell off in shock. Did deer ever come this close to humans? When she regained her composure, Emma realised that it wasn't just a doe, it was like the whole forest had turned up. As well as the original doe there were more deer (both male and female), bunny rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, foxes, beavers, otters, badgers, and all manner of birds. One of the male deer approached Emma and bent his head in front of Emma. Somehow she just knew he was offering her his antlers to help her to her feet. Emma gingerly took the antlers and two other deer appeared at either of Emma's sides and nudged under her arms keeping her supported. Just then, a black bear appeared. Emma yelled, frightened, and the bear tilted his head curiously. He moved forward and bent down, and Emma just knew he was offering her a ride.
"This is so weird." Emma groaned, as the deer helped Emma onto the bear's back. Together with her animal parade Emma was escorted through the forest.
Meanwhile…
Snow was sitting reading, finally enjoying a quiet moment to herself now that Neal was down for a nap. She had just started a new chapter when a dove came and landed on her shoulder. Snow listed carefully to its little coos and jumped up immediately, calling Red to come and babysit Neal.
When Red arrived, Snow rushed off with the dove, calling an ambulance on the way.
The dove led Snow right to where the animals had taken Emma out of the forest. Snow helped Emma off of the bear's back.
"Thank you, guys. I can take it from here." The animals then shuffled back into forest and headed off in their own directions." Emma gave her mom a bemused look.
"Is this normal to you? A Noah's ark worthy group of animals just randomly gathering to take me out of the forest?"
"As it happens, yes it is. But don't worry about that just now. The dove told me you'd been bitten by a snake. An ambulance is on the way. It's going to be alright Em."
"Of course it did." Emma said, why didn't she figure her mom knew about this because a bird told her? Why was this town so weird?!
