Shotgun wedding
Hanna asked for a oneshot of Snowing finding out Emma had a marriage before coming to Storybrooke that didn't end well. I've combined this with evilregal13's request of Snowing finding out Emma had a marriage that ended badly.
"Wow, Emma you had a lot of people sign this." Snow said as she flicked through the yearbook. Emma had found it when she'd had the little stuff she'd kept in storage sent over. It was her senior year yearbook.
"Um yeah, I had a lot of friends in that High School." Emma admitted. Charming raised an eyebrow.
"Is that a polite way of saying that you were popular?" He asked. Emma shrugged her shoulders.
"I guess. It helped that my Foster parents in that town were stinking rich. I was like a little novelty to them- the poor little orphan who they took in out of the goodness of their hearts. I thought they were real friends back then, but I look back now and realise they didn't care about me, they cared about all the stuff I could afford for them. It was the one time in my childhood I was wealthy so I wasn't looking too deep into it. At least I had friends, I guess." Snow and Charming gave her sad smiles before continuing to flip through the messages left for Emma. Snow stopped Charming from flipping the page when a particular message got her eye. She read it aloud so Emma could hear.
"To my babe, you rock my world. Love, Vincent." Snow looked up at Emma who was now blushing. "Vincent, ay? Care to share?"
"Yeah Emma, who was Vincent?" Charming asked, sounding a little more dangerous.
"Vince was my childhood sweetheart, the captain of the football team, I was clearly trying to be as cliché as possible." Emma cringed as she told them. "We got together when I started at that school and we promised each other that we would always be together, but then I ran from the system and we lost touch. After being in the penitentiary I was left alone and he was the only person I could think of to put down for my parole officer. Luckily he agreed and he was still living in the same town. We…uh…we may have had a bit of a shotgun wedding…"
"What?!" Both her parents exclaimed.
"I'm sorry, you were married?!" Snow shrieked. Emma nodded, rubbing the back of her neck uncomfortably.
"Yeah. We both got drunk one night and thought it'd be a good idea. I became Mrs Emma Valduto. We tried to make it work, neither of us wanting a divorce on record before we were even twenty, but of course it didn't work out. That's when I moved and got into the bail bonds business." Emma explained. Snow and Charming were a bit shell shocked. Sometimes they wondered if they knew their daughter at all the amount of surprises she came out with like this.
