RAIFSG-Chapter 9

October 13, 2023 Friday

Lorelia is picking Chloe and Josey up from school today. They are going shopping for the material to make their Halloween Costumes. They want to go as 'Lilo & Stitch'. Lorelai is making the costumes and they need to pick out the material. All four children are going to trick or treat in The Hollow.

If you had asked Rory or Logan if Lorelai would be making costumes for the kids to spend Halloween in Stars Hollow two weeks ago, the answer would have been no. Rory and Lorelai had a knock down drag out that started in Luke's and ended up at the Crap Shack. The whole town witnessed.

After about a week not talking to each other, Luke and Jessi finally got them to talk it out. Lorelia admitted she was jealous of Logan. Luke also pointed out that Rory was a grown woman, doing a fine job of raising Chloe and if she didn't step back, she would lose her and Chloe. Rory apologized for the hurtful things she said to Lorelai.

When Lorelai found out about the party that Finn was having on Halloween, she insisted the kids spend the night in Stars Hollow so the adult could go to the party. Since it was Chilton's fall break, Lorelia and Sookie decide to turn the inn into a Halloween camp for the kids. They would rope in Kwan and Steve, as well as Martha since she would be home from college that week.

Her mission for today is to get the material to make the costumes. Mike and Mitch are going as Mario and Luwige. She will pick up that material too. She planned for her and the girls to work all weekend on the costumes. Chloe and Lorelai want to show Josey what a true Gilmore Movie night is.

Honor picked up the boys at school. Mitch and Mike will spend the weekend with her boys. This left Logan and Rory time to go out.

The doorbell rang at the manor around 1:00. Rory answered the door to Logan. She ushered him in. "Just have a seat, I won't be a minute more." She told him.

"No problem," He said. "We are not meeting Steph and Collin until later tonight. We have reservations at 'Butter'for 9." He said, looking around the room. He didn't see any suitcases or bags ready to be put in the car.

"Rory." Logan said as he took the stairs to the 2nd floor. He has gotten pretty used to the Manor in the last few weeks. They have been taken advantage of Chloe being at Tristin's. She stepped out of the bedroom, "Where is your luggage?" He asked. She was just finishing putting her dress in the suit bag.

"This is all I have." She told him. "Really?" She told him. "Do you think I should have packed more? I mean, I have a dress and shoes tonight. I have clothes for tomorrow, and something to wear home. Besides, if I need something else, I can just buy it."

This was a new Rory. She wasn't going out and blowing money, but she wasn't as conservative as before.

They drove Logan's Infiniti SUV. He wanted to make sure he had enough room to bring the costumes back.

When they pulled up to the Morgan on 5th, they were met with a valet and checked them in while she looked at the giant fish tanks. She didn't know what it was about giant fish tanks that drew her attention.

Rory looked around the suite while Logan took care of the bellhop. She went to explore the bedrooms, this suite had two. This will be the first time since they got back together that they have gone away together. Sure Logan has spent the night at the Manor, but he always had to leave before his kids got up. He still employed a live-in housekeeper/Nanny.

"Ace," Logan said, looking for her.

"I'm in here," She said from the bedroom. He got a smirk on his face. Sure he wouldn't mind starting the weekend off with a little 'exercise'. He walked toward the room about the time she came out. "I was just looking at which of the rooms I like best." She said with a wink. "I think I'll take this one and you can have the other one. It's smaller."

He got this look in his eye. One she has seen before, and started walking toward her. "I don't think so." He said. She turned and ran to the room trying to shut the door, but he was too fast. They both collapsed in bed, laughing.

Logan was getting out of the shower, while Rory was drying her hair and putting on makeup. They were expecting Colin and Steph any minute. They would meet Finn and his date at Butters.

Rory moved to the door to open it, finding Steph and Colin. Both girls started squealing. "Rory, oh, let me look at you." Steph said as she stepped back away from her.

They both looked at each other."You look great." That brought on another fit of laughter.

The two of them moved to the couch and started catching up.

"You want a drink?" Logan asked Colin.

"Don't mind if I do. Seems my wife forgot I was here." Colin said.

"Oh, poohie, Colin," Steph said. "Fix me a martini."

"Me too," Rory said and then continued talking to Steph.

Logan and Colin, both gentlemen, did as they were told. They still had plenty of time before they needed to meet Finn.
