Special birthday surprise

YNCA asked for a oneshot of Emma, Neal and Rosie trying to throw a surprise birthday party for Snow. But it all goes wrong and when Snowing come home there's cake everywhere, Neal's wrapped in wrapping paper, Rosie's covered in flour and Emma's covered in frosting. Emma cries telling her mom she just wanted to make her birthday special.

As Snow and Charming came back through the door, they weren't sure world war three hadn't taken place solely in their home. The smoke alarm going off sounded like some bizarre air raid siren. The smoke mixed with flour and icing sugar both splattered the floor and coated the air looking like the aftermath of an explosion. Neal was squiggling on the ground covered in wrapping paper looking like a casualty of war who'd been quickly patched up in the hopes of survival. As they got further into the house Snow and Charming saw their baby Rosie sitting in the living room covered in flour, happily licking it off herself. Then they found a frantic looking Emma in the kitchen, desperately trying to both stop the smoke alarm. Charming came in and hit the red reset button. Emma jumped when she saw that her parents were home, and then her face fell completely.

"No, you guys weren't meant to be home until…" but then Emma looked at the clock and realised that it was five o'clock. "I tried so hard. I just wanted to make this special for you mom." At that Emma burst into tears. Why was she such a screw up? All she'd managed to do was ruin her mom's birthday. Or at least that's what she thought. Snow came forward and pulled Emma into a hug.

"My birthday was already special, you silly sausage. I had my handsome husband and my three beautiful children to spend the day with. But Emma, the fact that you tried to do something so special for me means a lot. Don't get upset baby, these things happen. Making cakes with two small children isn't easy."

"The cake is burnt." Emma whimpered. "I couldn't even get that right."

"Hey," Snow said, pulling back so she could look Emma in the eye. "It was made lovingly by my children so I'm sure it will taste delicious." Snow caught sight of the charcoal black cake on the countertop. "Well, maybe a little icing won't hurt." She joked, delighting in the way it made smile through her tears. Snow had all she wanted, her family together. It was the greatest birthday present she could ask for.
