Needing extra comfort- part 3
Ren asked for a oneshot of a part 3 to "Needing extra comfort" to follow on from Ch862 where Emma wakes up mortified and Snowing reassure her, saying it's ok to slip sometimes. Same disclaimers as before. As usual with any part 3s I write this will be the last in this series of oneshots I will do.

Guest who asked for a part three to the story of Neal breaking Emma's blanket: there isn't a part 2 haha. I'm afraid I said I wouldn't continue the story as I liked the way it ended.

Emma found herself coming too slowly. She felt warmer than she normally did, and quickly realised this was because her parents were still with her. In her sleep she had cuddled up to her dad and he had wrapped his arms around her protectively. Snow had moved closer to be with the rest of her family and had an arm resting against Emma's shoulder, hand clutching lightly at the material of Emma's top. They had obviously drifted off whilst she slept. Emma felt her face heat up, but not from the extra body heat in the bed, from embarrassment. She was thirty years old, yet here she was, needing her parents to stay with her in order to sleep. Emma tried to shuffle to the end of the bed to get up, but the small movements from both her parents told her that she'd woken them up.
"Emma? Where are you going baby?" Snow asked sleepily. "Do you want something to eat or drink?" Emma noticed that her mom's voice had changed. This was the voice she used when speaking with Neal. Did they think less of her now? Would they still respect her, or had she lost that?
"No, I'm fine." Emma said coldly, trying to distance herself from them. But Snow and Charming both saw right through that.
"Emma, it's alright you know." Charming said, also speaking in the voice he reserved for Neal. "We don't mind at all. Whenever you need to take a step back we'll be here."
"It's ok to seek comfort when you need it. And if this is what you need to do to get comfort then that's ok. We're not going to judge you, and we understand completely that you'll want to keep this private, you don't need to worry about us telling anyone. Emma, honey, we find this just as cathartic as you do." Emma said with a soft smile.
"You're our child. It's been killing us that you wouldn't let us show you any affection like we can with Neal. It's good to finally get the chance." Charming added. Emma nodded.
"Ok, I appreciate that. But I'm ok for now. I just need a little space. But it's good to know that I have this option now." Emma said with a nervous smile. Charming and Snow let Emma go to have her space. They were just happy to know she was able to accept herself without fear of judgement from others. She knew they would always support her.
