Chapter 42: Back into the mind
Inside the apartment right now their were those right now just being told what might happen when someone is used for celeste semblance. Though they understood the risk because right now those said volunteer right now where laying on couches or in chairs.
With celeste in the middle mediating right now with her tattoos on her arm glowing. While rogue was face down snoring a little. Nadia was in a chair with her hand on her cheek snoring peacefully as well. With zane passed out with a pillow underneath his head, as lilith was sleeping on a nearby couch as well.
Though inside the mindscape they soon breeched the surface as they all coughed up some water along with being soaked by it. Rogue gasped coughing up water as lilith was dripping wet as she shook herself off. While nadia rung out her shirt sighing.
"This is how your little semblance works?"nadia questioned
"Yeah but well welcome to this kids mind"celeste said gesutring to their surrounding right now because it was the still same shattered mindscape from the look of it. This confused rogue seeing it so messed up but wondered what was in here.
"So…any rules or something we gotta watch out in here"she questioned until someone else popped up.
"Yes several in fact"bane said startling them as a few of them jumped out of their skin from him appearing. Though quickly they calmed down as the one who haven't seen him here yet just stared at him very confused right now.
"Sooo goliath in the room their is a copy of my nephew here. Who are you exactly?"lilith questioned as the copy sighed bowing slightly.
"Kinda of obvious. I'm the chimera grimm…i've taken the form of my host to make things easier. Because well rather not interact with a talking bug i'm sure"he joked as they figured out he has his puns.
"So you do have his puns….great because uh you said how their are enemies in here. How are we going to defend our selves"rogue asked a little nervous. Though celeste pointed at her back as the blonde reached back pulling out her axe while nadia held her revolver in hand.
"Well…so we got our weapons in here. Which should make things easier i'm sure"nadia stated
"It should although it seems you don't got any"celeste said pointing to lilith who just went into her aerial form stretching her hands as her claws extended slightly before molting it offf.

"Kid if you just picked something terrible to see right now i swear to.."she was stopped before seeing what was before her as she sighed in relief.

Back in the real world everyone who decided to come by and watch whatever this was just talked. As they were just waiting for whatever those five where doing .

The women skipped over pouring a glass for the two offering him one as he took it immediately drinking it.

Who now was wearing a dark purple lingerie set with a trench coat that presented her all in her glory as she noticed what he was doing.
"So you found my little collection…you like it?"she creepily said as he began to back up toward the bed before falling back onto it gulping neoruvlsy
"Well…i…i…i was just looking around for things and found this….your uh."he couldn't form words as she got on top of him which weirded them out although she pinned him down licking his face as he blushed.
"Awww don't be nervous because your going to get something special"she said sedcutivly reaching behind her back before pulling out a syringe bringing it down but he brought his hand up as the needle went through it.
"Gah! You psycho!"he roared before reeling his legs back kicking her off to the ground. Then from a nearby door thugs rushed in as they saw the current situation without questioning it beginning to open fire on him. Though he dashed for the window kicking the desk into it cracking it.
He leaped through it destroying it as he got onto balcony jumping for the disco ball swinging from it. The thugs began opening fire on him as the patrons started to scream running for their lifes. As he dashed for the bar sldiing over it covering his head as other joined him mainly being harper and alexa with ramierx having a bloody napkin in his nose with bonnet their.
"Well let me guess she likes to play it rough!"harper shouted over the gunfire
"You can say that! Because she stabbed me in the hand dammit! "He growled back as his hand bled as he grabbed a rag wrapping it up. As ramierz set a couple suitcase down undoing them to reveal a short pump shotgun, some pistol and a signiture pair of revolvers.
"Well punching me in the nose better be worth it….grinch spotted a airship on the roof. We gotta go after her"ramierz replied grabbing a small submachine gun.
"Make the birthday boy do it since the general made him come out on his birthday. You take the left i got the right"bonnet said as he nodded as she began to quickly count down to three. They all broke from cover with alexa providing covering fire with ramierz assisting her. As harper rushed in with a shotgun blasting a thug back with bonnet spin kicking a thug down before kicking them again in the face knocking them down.
While he dashed up some scaffolding reaching a second floor to be met by eight thugs as he immediately dashed forward. Two of the thug rushed at him with blunt objects but he dodged one strike pistol whiping him then shot him in the leg. As a second swung hitting him in the gut as he wince but he kneed him back. Then fired a couple ice shot rounds into his leg stunning him as he headbutted him to the ground.
While another three rushed in at him as he dodged their strike quickly in a swift motion incapacitated them with his revolver. Though as he knocked the third down he heard a click as he hosltered them. As a thug swung at him from behind but he wrapped his leg without looking around his waist as he knelt down. Then he threw his head back breaking his nose then elbowed him to the ground
The next thug came at him with a knife slashing at him cutting up his dress shirt a few times. Though he side stepped him gripping his arm twisting it around before snapping it as he cried in pain. The last thug roared trying to stab him but he easily dodged it leg sweeping them punching them in the throat stunning them.
Though he dashed toward a railing hoping from it back up to the balcony as veronica was their like she was waiting for him.
"Awww you miss me already? Sorry cutie i need to leave right now bye bye"she said climbing up a lady. As he growled lunging forward pulling her down as she yelped falling onto her face. Then he dug his knee in her back producing handcuffs placing them around her wrist.
"Fat chance you psycho. Your going to jail"he said as she whined as some time passed before atlas military arrived loading the thugs into a sqaud car along with her. Though from a nearby ship general ironwood stepped out with someone others where familiar with. That being ozpin before his soul went into oscar bodie. As the general approached the group of soldiers and him.

"Hold on their james. If memory serve me right someone just passed their final test to leave atlas finally"ozpin said which made the memory of zane flinch hearing that as he looked down rubbing his arm
"Wait…are you actually saying i can go to beacon? Like actually search for my family?"he asked very excited as nadia looked surprised he had to go on missions to actually leave that kingdom. As the general froze their for a moment shooting ozpin a glare before scoffing nodding walking away.
"Seems that slipped my mind i guess you got another student oz. we'll go over protocol tomorrow he better not cause problems"he growled as ozpin just offered a hand to him as he shook it.
"I'm sure it won't james. Besides we need all the help we can get to fight the forces known as grimm…even with their own"he said as the memory ended right their as they were stunned by that for a moment. Though lilith felt surprised that her own sister son was treated like some sort of prisoner back in atlas.
Rogue was in awe right now"that was so cool! I mean it was weird seeing you act like that but you took down a serial killer!"she said but celeste hummed looking away for a moment
"Uhhh that chick is the poacher…didn't she escape jail like six months ago"she said making them pause at that for a moment. It better not come back to haunt them, though soon enough they journey further into the mind luckily not running into any nightmares. But they passed by several statues in the cheriehsed memories section.
But rogue noticed a few seeing one looking like her as it played out the two meeting for the first time. As it showed a few of their other adventures over their time together as she smiled seeing these right now.
"So whats this place exactly?"she asked eagerly
"These would be cherished memories. Sort of like things that someone holds important to them over the years."celeste answered as they passed by the one of him reuniting with his mom and sister as nadia smiled seeing that.
"Funny although uh….what is that?"she questioned pointing toward somewhere they shouldn't go down. That being the trauma ward as he flinched seeing that backing up scared right now as he took small rapid breaths.
Bane flinched even himself"oh that….we don' need to be going down their. Because ah here we are"he said seeing a book of a women holding a pair of swords in her hands. He touched it as it transported them into a memory again.
Although he hoped it wasn't the cabin again but instead it something that surprised him. That being they were in wide open area with trees covered by thick snow. Along with several house in a town like setting with people ranging from faunus to human co existing with each other. But one person caught lilith gaze immediately.
That being hel who was wearing a thick winter trench coat colored blue with a black scraf around her neck. As next to her close by was azaril grabbing some things by a nearby stall wearing a marron winter jacket with tan fur on a collar.
Though hel was busy doing one thing gushing over her two year old son who wore a simple pair of black pants with a puffy blue winter coat and hat on. As she was kneeling down humming.
"Awww do you like the snow? Do you wanna build a little snowman?"she cutely asked as the tot stared at her.
"Snowman"he cutely replied making nadia smile seeing that reminding her of the good old days. Although lilith had tears starting to form in her eyes right now seeing her youngest sister again that she hasn;t seen in years as she had tears slipp away.
"Little sister"she muttered with tears flowing right now down her face. But soon enough the sound of footsteps could be heard as someone called out to the women.
"Oh you two are up and about i see. Coming in for supplies"a male voice said as it was taiyang xiaolong with raven by his side which caught them offguard. Because holding her mother hand was a two year blonde girl with curly hair and lilac eyes in a yellow winter jacket and brown pants wearing mittens on her hand. While swaddled on raven back was a silver eyed baby fast asleep wrapped in several blankets.
In the real world all of them isntivly looked toward raven and tai right now who were surprised themselves they were their.
"Okay….uhhh for some reason your in their miss xiaolong"sombra said surprised
"Yes….why are you two in their? Because that doesn't really make sense right now"calida questioned herself as some of the grave family were happy to see a relative they lost long ago. Although mars sniffed rubbing his eyes from the tears
"Oh well my baby sister did move to the patch a long time ago after she left vacuo"mars answered which caught them offguard as blake noticed yang their before staring at her girlfriend.
"So i guess i do get to see those baby pictures of yours xiaolong"blake teased as yang blushed heavily embarrassed right now.
"Come on! Are you saying that his parents knew our family or something this has to be a trick!"she shouted in complete embarrassment as a thought came to raven mind.
"That why those faces seem familiar. Actually i remember their being a couple on the patch who we had these playdates with at times. But i also vidly remember well…"she paused for a moment trying to think
"What….don't tell us that blondie over here said puns when she was a tot"cardin joked as she growled at him for it as he backed off but tai shook his head
"No i think i know what your thinking about. One day they went on a trip out of the patch asking us to watch their house. But the thing was they didn't come back after two months…which means"he paused as some figured out what exactly happen. But back in the memory it continued
"Well we gotta prepare a trip for visiting family. Though i see you two walking around with your third wheel"azaril replied
Raven cleared her throat"oh her…summer busy right now talking with my brother. But don't tai will check the house for you on your trip."she replied as they got to talking. Though the two year old yang approached the other tot as she stared at him for a moment. As he was making a small snowman then she poked at it crumbling it to the ground.
As he made a fussy face before grabbing some snow throwing it into the young blonde tots hair. Although even at this age the tot who would be known as yang xaiolong didn't like people touching her hair at that age. Immediately she shoved him back into a pile of snow as he began to cry getting the adult attention
"Yang!"raven said as her daughter froze up their picking her up as hel rushed up pulling up her son who was covered in snow with a fussy face. As she growled a little at them.
"Your daughter better apologize or i'm going to have to give her a spanking"hel threatened with a grin making the current yang flinch because she looked scary. Tai sighed stepping forward
"Sorry lately our daughter been very terroitoral on her hair. I touched her hair last week and she bite me"tai said annoyed as the women stared at them sighing
"Thats…fine but just teach her to play nice. Because we need to start packing have a nice day"hel said leaving them. As the two of them began to walk back through the snow for a long time it seems for what felt like minutes. Although the women brushed the snow off her son face holding him in her arms as the two talked
"So i got all the necessary supplies for the trip. Along with that i'll get my old ride for vacuo."azaril said
"Great. Hopefully the letters i sent to my older brother and sister got them. Though….ughh i hope my older sister lil doesn't scold me again"she said in disgust as lilith right now looked down in shame because she always argued with her to come back home where their family was. How she was stupid for not hiding their family true name.
Azaril sighed looking at her"look i know you and her get in your spat. But you gotta admit shes just trying to protect you"he replied
As hel held her son close who was passed out from the long walk as she stared at the ground nodidng gently.
"I do….but…i'm just sick of hiding like a bunch of cowards. We worked so hard in the past for our family legacy. But they want to squander it, that we should just stay in hiding to let innocent people die."she said as some of her family in the real world looked away from each other taking those words in. because they just wanted to stay safe from their enemies that want to kill or use them.
Athough eventually something happened as the sound of several footsteps and growling could be heard. As emerging from the nearby woods where about seven beowulf growling toward their new prey right now. Immediately hel handed her son to her husband stepping forward as she activated her semblance that being the one from before.
Then the organic skin moved around as she drew a pair of katana that had jet black handles along with the blades being dark blue in color. As they measured in sixteen inches in length each as she dragged one infront of her creating a groove in the snow.
"You know….i needed some stress relief. Azaril be a dear and make sure our son safe"she said as she began to dash forward toward the grimm. They didn't expect their prey to just come running at them as two lunged at her bringing their claw ready to strike her down. But she rolled to the side kicking some snow up, but she slashed one sword into a grimm stomach stunning it. As she brought the next under it jaw killing it.
The second tried to sneak up on her but the coatails on her back moved around as one wrapped around it wrist. The next wrapped around its neck and lastly its right leg as she seemed to control them. Putting pressure on them she tore its leg off then its arm as the last coattail snapped it neck killing it. Another one kept lunging and trying to pounce her though she was quicker bringing both blades down slashing it in the chest killing it.
Though one of them was on the prowl sneaking up tackling her launching her back a bit as she rolled through the snow. Which in turn knocked her weapons out of her hand as the hood fell back revealing her face. She growled seeing some slowly turning their attention to her husband and son.
"Oh no….you mutts are playing with me remember"She growled before reaching behind her back revealing a long pull. Pressing a button it extended into a long scythe with a curve blade as it was jet black in color. As the blade curved with a tombstone hanging off its handle. Then she switched to another form
As a dark blue material covered her similar to fur that was thin in appearance. She flexed one of her hands as a pair of sharp claws emerged with her feet having sharp claws as well. Then from her waistbone a bushy wolf tail sprouted from behind with white in her joints. Lastly a hood formed with a pair of twitching ears atop her head.
In an instant she dashed forward with blinding speed swinging and slahsing the scythe throug the four grimm. Instantly in a blur she stood their setting her scythe down near the line as the four turned into dust. Holstering her scythe azaril rushed over with a worry look
"Are you two alright dear?"she asked sweetly but he flicked her on her wolf ears as she whined
"Dear….i know one of us had to protect our son. But you can't do something like that you could get hurt."he said before placing a hand near her stomach
"Along with that surprise you want to tell your family"he added as she sighed
"Oh you mean how i got pregannt again and were probably having a wonderful baby girl"hel sweetly replied but this stunned zane right now hearing that. That he was actually a older brother, that his mom was prengnant when she died. Lilith gasped covering her mouth as tears started to slip.
"I…no….no….no…y-you were pregnant"lilith said in complete shock as in the real world alot of them found that strange. But sizz eyes widden with shock as tears formed with dante jaw dropping as mars looked stunned. That their own family member died pregannt with another kid
"I…wait she was pregnant? Oh my god"sizz said covering her face with tears slipping down her face. Zoey was stunned to see that hoping her brother is handling it alright.
Mars held his head sighing heavily"God dammit….dammit sis…i….god why"he cried right now as katherine sighed with a slight upset look
"I'm guessing that women had a miscarraige. This is only an assumption because slavers hold people in terrible conditions. Which in turn might cause virus and other forces of trauma to happen"she saldy said as it cotninued with the women sighing as her tail swayed before picking up her son who was awake now in her arms.
"Come on how do you know its a girl? Could be another boy?"azaril replied as she sighed smiling
"Seriously? My family mainly has girls i mean pana gonna have another one soon i'm sure. Besides you'll be a great older brother to your sister delilah won't you"she said nuzzling her son face as he hugged her. Though it transported them out of the memory as zane stood their with tears on his face hugging himself shaking.
"I…i…oh my god…are you okay over their?"rogue asked concerned as immedialty nadia consoled him hugging him close with an upset look. He leaned into it as he sighed heavily
"I'm fine…though nice to see her face again i guess. Though guess i can still be an older brother"he said as celeste sighed before gathering them up.
'Alright that was fun but lets get out of here now."cleeste said as her tattoos started to glow but instead of leaving. Soon enough roars could be heard as tackling her away along with bane and zane from the group where a hoard of nightmares. Though as they drew their weapons their seemed to be too many to count.
"Crap! Everyone scatter!"rogue shouted as her, nadia and lilith ran down somewhere else that being the trauma ward. Because they just went in the wrong direction now.
With that it seems that they went down the wrong path that may bring up terrible things. Along with seeing how the grimm hybrid took down a psycho serial killer. But also to find out he would have been a older brother. Thanks for reading
