Untold possibilities

FictionLover12 asked for a oneshot of *Season 5 spoilers!* Charming dreaming the scene where Emma is in the cage.

"Emma no!" I cried out, my eyes flying open, a hand outstretched to stop the vision of Emma that was now lost, uncatchable like smoke. Instead, I found himself in the comfort of my bed. Snow's head resting on my chest, Emma's baby blanket clutched tightly in her hand, the edge nuzzled against her nostrils. It was the only thing that allowed her to sleep until we found a portal to Camelot. We both missed Emma so terribly, so worried about what was happening to her now that she was the Dark One. Where was she? Was she being treated well? Was anyone hurting her? The only saving grace being that we had the dagger, so we knew nobody could try and control her. But that was of little comfort to us. I gently kissed the top of Snow's head before shifting her over, back to her side of the bed. I checked on our son, pleased that he was still sleeping peacefully in his crib. I needed some air, a chance to fully rid myself of the nightmare that plagued me almost nightly. I didn't want to think of Emma acting like a villain. She was my daughter, the light of my world. I knew that no matter how cursed being the Dark One made her somewhere inside of her acting with ill intentions would be hurting her, and I never wanted to see her hurting. I sat on the steps of the front door and allowed the cool night air to ease the heat on the back of my neck.

"I hope you're safe, Em." I said to the whispering night air. "We're coming for you, don't doubt that. I will always find you." I promised her, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hear me, and that I would not sleep properly until I did.
