Middle names
Hersheykisser25 asked for a oneshot of Snow calling Emma by her full name (Emma Ruth Swan) and Emma questioning her on Snow's middle name leading to some banter between her and her parents.
Guest who asked for the feral child request: I'm so sorry, there should have been a wee note for you last time but it must have got lost in transmission! I'm afraid I think that's a bit outside my creative abilities, but if you ask for something else I'll endeavour to write it for you :).
Guest who asked for something about letting Emma grow up again: check out my other story "A lapse of concentration".
Child care 101: I'm afraid both of those have already been too closely covered!
Baba blacksheep: I'm afraid I already used that speech for a previous chapter so it would be a little too repetitive.
Guest: See the thing is, to Kathryn at the time David was her husband and I believe Snow understands that.
Again, I have reason to believe an unnamed guest has asked for 2 requests as they used the same text language ;) you have no idea what that does to my wee heart. Grammar is a wonderful thing! And anyway, I do believe both of your requests have been covered.
Guest who asked for Emma going to the Ball: is it the adult one or the kid's one she is forced to go to as Snowing's daughter?
Emma had been in a wicked mood all day. She was taking great delight in winding both her parents up and spooking them at various points throughout the day. She had just been waiting behind the living room door to jump out and frighten her mom as she came back from the bathroom. Having grown used to Emma's tricks she only just jumped, not screaming this time.
"Emma Ruth Swan my patience is wearing thin." Snow grumbled. This halted Emma in her fits of laughter. She looked up, an eyebrow raised. She had never heard her middle name before.
"Ruth, huh?" She commented. She turned to where her dad sat on the sofa. "That was your mom's name, wasn't it? You picked her name as my middle name?" Charming nodded, both he and Snow just now realised that they had never actually told Emma that was to be her middle name. "Cool. But it's not fair being able to middle name me, that's a high leverage. I should at least know your middle names in return. Come on mom, you first. What's your middle name?"
"I don't have one." Snow snapped quickly. But the snort her dad gave in return told Emma she was lying without having to use her super power. Snow narrowed her eyes dangerously at her husband.
"Oh come on, you've always said you wished we would share more." Emma said, batting her eyelashes at her mother. Snow sighed and plopped down on a chair.
"If I tell you there is to be no laughing." She said sternly. Emma held up three fingers on her right hand.
"Girl Scout's honour." She said. Snow nodded curtly.
"I was given my great grandmother's name as a middle name. She saved the Kingdom from a great war. Her name was Tangerine." Emma tried, but couldn't help the laughter that escaped her lips. "You promised!" Snow said, feeling miffed.
"I was never a Girl Scout." Emma replied between bouts of laughter. Charming couldn't help but laugh as well. He already knew of course. Snow's eyes homed in on him.
"I don't know what you're laughing at David Dick!" She called. Emma paused for a moment to look at her dad's slightly betrayed looking face before laughing harder than ever.
"It's a family name!" He protested. He realised it wasn't going to work so crossed his arms over his chest and huffed back against the couch. "See how nice we were giving you Ruth?" He grumbled. Emma wiped away the tears from her eyes.
"Oh yeah, thanks for that." She said, breathless from laughing. Both her parents were now decidedly huffy, but Emma was in a better mood than ever. She would totally be using that against them when needed.
