"Delia comes upstair to know your rank." Grandma is calling me

I am sitting with Alexander at the button of the chasm. There is a big rock and no one ever know it. Alexander is the new mafia boss of dauntless after his dad dead of cancer

"We have to go. Your grandma is going to yell at me ." Alexander stands up.

"You are mafia boss of dauntless." I roll my eyes ."Coward ."

"Your grandma is older and my dad told me to respect her ." Alexander shrugs."I don't have a choice ."

I start to climb. When we are on the ground ， grandma is standing there with arms folded . Peter and Alex are standing beside him

"Hey， Alexander ， why you bring my granddaughter beneath there!" Grandma yells at him."My daughter and son in law deed for this stupid reason."

My parent were dead beneath the chasm? I grew up without parent and they were all dead

"I am sorry Jenny. I will be carful next time. We were just having so much fun down there ." Alexander says

"Don't tell me that you are fucking my grand daughter ." Grandma is angry.

"We are just friends ." Alexander shakes his head

I stare at him. I have a crushed on him and we acted so flirty before and now you called that friends?

"Let's go to cafeteria . You have to be the host." Peter squeezes my arm

He knows that I like Alexander but he said that he was pretty playful with other girls too but I don't believe that.

"That's fine . Just give him some time ." Alex sighs ."He eventually will see that."

"Sure I will ." I nod at him

After we get into the cafeteria ， everyone are there . Elizabeth and Evelyn are sitting there with Kennedy and Edward . Elizabeth and Evelyn are sisters and they were both transferred from Candor

"Delia you are here . Your grandma were looking for you everywhere ." Kennedy waves at me

"I was talking to someone so my grandma found us ."I shrug

Edward narrows his eyes . He knew that I was always so close with Alexander .

"Yeah we all know that." Jason laughs .

He gives me a cup of drink. Elizabeth sips her drink in front of her .

"It is the first time that I take alcohol. In Candor ， people generally do smoke ." Elizabeth says

"Yeah I never smoke or drink before ." Kennedy narrows her eyes

"Yeah because you are stiff." I laugh."You never even had the hamburger before ."

Now Alexander is standing on the stage . He claps his hand together .

"So we will make this short. Eloquent is for erudite . So this year ， all of you have the enough score to be made members and now the rank only decides which order that you will choose your jobs ."Alexander shouts ."There is one ambassador and one leadership available ."

We line up according to our rank. I am the first so I stand at the first .

"So what do you want and do you want to stay with your friends or alone ." Alexander asks

"I want the ambassador and instructor's position and I want to stay alone ." I say

"Good ， so you will train the transfer this year and this is your key." He hands me a key."You will live above the glass building."

I nod at him . I stand aside next to grandma . She looks so serious all the time .

"Good job Delia ." She smiles at me

"Thanks grandma ." I say."Let's go."

We sit down . I am so hungry. I make myself a hamburger .

"Are you hungry grandma ?" I ask

"Not really, what were you doing with Alexander down there ." She scoffs

"We were chatting. Grandma please."I roll my eyes

Grandma stops asking . Peter and Alex sit down beside me

"Are you all right?" Alex asks. "You don't seem happy."

"I don't know why. I just feel that something is happening. Where is mark?" I look around. "Where have he been?"

Mark is my instructor but also he falls in love with Kennedy. Kennedy sits down beside my grandma

"Which position did you pick?" I look at her

"The leadership in patrol program. Where is mark?" She narrows her eyes . "He has to be here now ."

"I don't know . I haven't see him. Alex can you please go check out." Grandma shrugs

Alex stands up and leaves . Kennedy looks anxious .

"He will be fine ."grandma says . "He is à man."

Grandma reacts so calmly and I start to feel suspicious about it. I am generally a very suspicious person . Can that bias my thought?

"Yeah I belief so." Kennedy is poking the meat with her folk.

Then we hear a loud scream, it is from Alex . Is mark in dangerous? Alexander get tensed up.

"What happens!" Alexander opens the door .

"Mark…. It's mark." Alex looks so pale . "He is dead ."

"Dead? " Alexander steps back a little

Alexander and mark are best friends . They often drink together . Even it is not allowed for members to love an initiate before they settled into membership, Alexander made exception for mark and Kennedy.

"We have to go see ." I say. "Kennedy are you okay?"

"I am not." Kennedy kneels down the floor . "Why is he doing that to me !"

She is crying. I hold her into my arms . I know who did that. It can only be one person: Mike. He is the leader of erudite . He is the only one who is worried about divergent

However why he can he get access to dauntless data . Alexander never allow erudite to steal the data. There can be only one point: we have a traitor in dauntless . No, it can't be my grandma .

She is a good woman. However with her calm expression and how she was worried for mark, I can't stop myself . We rush out of the room. I ask Elizabeth to accompany Kennedy.

I walk beside Alexander .

"I think that there are traitor in dauntless now ." I bite my lips .

"We can talk about that later delia ." Alexander seems annoyed .

We get to the chasm. The body of mark already is putting into the body bag .

"Wait, let Kennedy sees him ." Someone talks behind us

It is Peter . He helps Kennedy to walk here .

"She has the right to see her fiancé the last time. They already engaged ." Peter sighs . "I don't understand why mark is this irresponsible ."

"There is something wrong here ." Alexander scoffs . "You are right Delia . Come to my office now ."

He walks away and I follow him. We walk toward the elevator and he presses the button. If it is really my grandma, why is she helping the erudite .

I remember that grandma is also divergent. Why is she helping Mike to kill other divergent.

We reach Alexander's office on 10 the floor .

"So tell me , why you think that we have a traitor ." Alexander folds his arms .

"He wasn't suicide . He was killed ." I narrowed my eyes

"Why ? How do you know that he was killed?" Alexander sits down .

I don't know how to explain this but I know that Alexander will believe this

"See the trend that people are dying every year . What do they have in common?" I say.

"They are all ……….divergent?" Alexander's face goes pale . "And then?"

"The person who asks you so many time for the record of fear landscape . He is the leader of erudite . He is the one who invented the test which reveal the abnormal activity of the human brains . He is the one killed them." I say. "However who can help her find out who the divergent are in dauntless , it is only an insider and they are in leadership."

Alexander nods at me . He agrees with my ideas.

"What result did you have for your test." He smiles at me .

"Erudite , dauntless and abnegation." I say.

"Abnegation?" Alexander is surprised

I know sometime people forget that selfless and braveness sometimes are not that big different.

"Braveness and selflessness sometime are the same ." I shrug. "Well , what should we do?"

"Tomorrow , can you run an aptitude test for me and report to me how many divergent there are . And afternoon go to Candor and take some truth serum . We need to test someone ." Alexander stands up. "Don't tell anyone what you told me ."

I nod at him. I walk out of the office . Grandma is waiting for me

"You weren't there paying your respect." Grandma leans against the wall.

"Why are you here grandma . I was talking to Alexander about my job." I act calmly.

"What did you tell him?" Grandma lifts her chin

The way she is acting increased the possibility that she is the traitor.

"He asked me to run the aptitude test tomorrow . That's all we talked about." I shrug.

"Really?that's all!" Grandma looks at me

"Yes that's what we talked about." Alexander comes out.

He puts a hand on my shoulder . He is telling me to go.

"Good night Delia ." He says in a low voice .

I start to walk away. Grandma didn't chase after me . I walked to my room and locked my room up. Then I see a letter on the table . It is from mark

Why did he put a letter there and how did he knows that I will sleep alone ?

I open the letter . He is telling me how much he will miss all of us . He mentions that to take care of Kennedy for him. Wait did he said that we will meet again.

What does that mean? Is that meaning he wasn't really dead or did he mean after life . I put the letter down and take off my jacket.

I am so tired and I need to get to bed . I have to work early tomorrow .

I walk into bathroom and open the hot shower to relax myself .
