Chapter 56:Lost the Will
It was soon a new morning right now as the snowy tundra was still cold as every. But the snowstorm had past which meant they where in the clear now for heading to argus. Although inside the homestead right now something else was happening
As everyone was still asleep right now with the only light source being from one the nearby curtains. It had a small light source seep through it. But no one was awake right now amaria passed out holding the diary in her arms while in a chair. With even summer falling asleep in a chair near the hallway right now
But getting into her temptation was nadia as the tiger faunus was passed out snoring in a chair right now. With a couple bottles of wine by her feet with one still in her grasp slightly. Though it soon slipped clattering on the floor which startled a couple of them awake
That being ruby along with adam as he immeidalty got up placing a hand on his katana at the ready. In turn this made lazuli groan as she stirred awake as she sat leaning against him half asleep
"Go back to bed…i wanna sleep more"lazuli whined yawning right now
Adam sighed as he set his katana down"no we need to get up because…"he glanced out the window for a moment. Then he walked over getting out of his sleeping spot, he threw the currents open to have the light shine into the room which caused several others to stir awake
Cardin groaned from the birhgt light in his eyes at that moment as he sat up yawning covering his mouth. While weiss squinted from the light turning away from it
"Close the window!"zephyra muttered loud enough for them to hear her
"Yeah were trying to*yawn* sleep over here"may argued
"We need to get up now. Its past the time we were all suppose to leave."adam said making ruby go wide eyed looking outside seeing it maybe close to the afternoon now which surprised her
"Oh no we all oversplet…everyone get up"ruby shouted to get them all awake right now as they were slowly getting up very gorggy from last night. While lazuli noticed her aunt with liquor botltles right now as she sighed
The theif felt very tired for some reason and just wanted to lay down. Along with doing nothing right now which felt weird to her right now. But she ignored it
Lazuli walked over shaking her aunt on her shoulders to wake her up
"Auntie…auntie come on wake up"lazuli said shaking her
Nadia groaned shovering her away lightly"go away sweetie….i need to think….about things"She said groggy right now.
Lazuli sighed before her foot hit something that clattered to the ground which was the three empty wine bottles. This made the thief narrow her gaze wondering why she would be drinking at a time like this. Immediately she picked up a bottle chucking it into a neabry wall
The resulting glass hitting the wall caused the tiger to shot awake from that. Along with everyone else in the home who grabbed their weapons.
"Huh?"nadia asked before staring at her niece who gesrued to a nearby shattered bottle
"Right sunrise…should get everything packed up. We got wounded"nadia said as they walked into the living area as everyone was picking themselves up.
As may felt a little but warmer now from what happened yesterday. But she still felt very tired as she decided to check on nate. Who was currently on his side facing away from all of them right now
"Hey grunt….wake up were leaving. "Mayb said nudging him a few times to wake him up. But the thing was that he wasn't even responding to her which made her concerned
"Hey….hey! You gonna wake up or something?"may shouted drawing a few of their attention her boyfriend espeically. As zane shot up rushing over kneeling near the soilder he knew shaking him several times
"Nate….nate?! Come on wake up where heading to argus…come on."zane said shaking him before he pulled him over to face them. All of them flinched at what they were seeing
That being that nates eyes where close with his body looking extremely pale. Zane wasn't liking this contisounyl shaking him right now to wake him up right now
"No….no…no do not tell me you bite the bucket man. Please…please just wake up…please"he begged with tears starting to form in his eyes. As cardin walked over dragging him back as zane didn't want to be pulled away.
But summer walked over kneeling down to chekc for a pulse. Though all she could find is nothing right now which meant only one thing.
"Hes dead"summer announced which made them all shocked right now that he was dead.
"Are…are you serious? I thought we treated his wounds?"zephyra asked very confused right now as summer stood up sighing rubbing her eyes. They felt very tired for some reason and she coudln't explain it
"My guess his injuries where more severe than we thought. Must have bled out in the middle of the night and we didn't even know it"Summer explained
Although zane eyes sank into his skull hearing that another person who treated him with kindness from atlas is gone. As he just began to break down crying sitting against a wall covering his face sobbing quietly to himself
"No…no…god dammit man. This world hates me…."he paused before glaring at oscar who was still half asleep right now
"Thanks alot you little prick. Another one of my friends are dead….becuase of your little voice in your head. Hope your happy"he growled as oscar looked down sighing heavily
"Sorry that he bled out…but its not my fault. Actually it might i don't know anymore"oscar said with no cheer in his tone or any at all
"Okay you kids are not fighting right now. Because its shameful that this soilder has passed i barely got to know him. Though he seemed like a kind soul lets all get pakced up then we can give him a proper burial in argus"maria said as they all sort of agreed with that
As rogue groaned sitting up rubbing her face right now but blake noticed something different about her
"Rogue…whats with your hand?"blake asked groggily
"Huh?"rogue replied before staring at her hand going slightly wide eyed. Because on her right hand the infernal guanelnt was looking very different right now. As it seemed like a piece of skin was on her from the look of it. The gem seemed imbedded into her hand smooth out like a metal plastic glove was on her hand
"Ummmm why does it look weird now?"yang asked yawning right now before ember emerged looking very worried herself right now covering her face
"You…you dumb girl. You didn't listen to me last night…you…i'm trapped…i'm stuck on your arm. You diddn't listen about he dumb curse!"ember shotued as it shokced them right now but most of them didnd't even seem bothered by it for some reason
"Oh great so that means she apart of the club with two people in her bodie"yang forced a joke making adam scoff slightly
"Do you really need to make a joke at a time like this. She has a glove stuck on her hand for the rest of her life now"adam said irritated now as she growled at him cracking her kncukels but summer got in between the two.
"Enough….look their has to be a way to remove it i'm sure. But…why aren't you screaming about it?"Summer aksed the blonde girl who wasn't even reacting to the guanlent that is now fuzed to her wrist as she scoffed
"I don't care anymore…bound to happen anyway. Since most of my family got stuck with her and now i am. Great…my life is ruined"rogue said rudely which caught ember by surprise a little noticing her eyes where dilated for some reason which confused her
"Ummm dear look i…i know your all mad at me and oz. but.."ember was stopped
"Shut up. We do not wanna hear what you have to say right now. Lets just get this over with we got to move alot of ground"cardin rudely said as they all gathered their belonging at that moment. Along with carrying the corpse now in their party
Once they were outside yang pulled the snowcat out as she let the engine run for a bit to warm it up. While nadia and adam both hooked bumblebee onto the back of the vehicle for them to transport it. Although as they were doing that everyone else was sitting on the porch as nate body was put in the back seat
"Anyone else tired right now because i'm exhausted"may asked yawning right now
"Well maybe we could have breakfast…could you two make it like now"Zpehyra demanded
"If you want breakfast go make your own. I aint your personal chef you spoiled brat"cardin retorted making her glare slightly at him
"If you don't want to just say no. jeez overdramatic jerk"zephyre replied with a rude tone as he glared at her. But immedialty ruby stopped that from getting out of hand
"Guys don't fight please. I know we've been through alot recently but please don't fight"ruby begged as the two stared at her scoffing sitting back on the ground
"How is the car coming?"she asked as yang emerged from the front yawning leaning against it feeling very tired right now as her own pupil where dilated
"Stupid thing will take some time to warm up so we don't freeze. Might as well just this stupid thing going…then its off to stupid argus"yang said in a bleak tone as nadia scoffed as she leaned against the snow truck for a moment
"Oh you mean how we have to go their. Along with possible military exucting my kid…that so great"nadia said in a bleak tone with a frustrated look as maria chuckled
"Don't have such a bleak outlook on things. Your all alive right now…well except one of you. "Maria said with an upset tone but nadia snapped at the old women right now glaring at her
"Hey bitch. Do us a favor and shut up becuase my kids this…soilder or whatever. Because right now i'm finding out alot of things lately about the world. On how its that twerp and his little friend in his head fault where stuck saving the world"nadia said with frsutrtion pounding the back of the truck with a loud bang being heard
Yang groaned sitting on the ground holding her head shaking it as adam rubbed his face
"Is it just me or does it seem like the universe doesn't even want us to get to atlas. Their must be a sign because i've seen alot"adam said
"You mean how we've just keep running into trouble every dam second. I for once agree with you"onxyia growled as her tail thrashed as ruby sighed
"Come on guys have a better attitude right now. We've survived far worse things and we can overcome this simply little thing"ruby said making a few of them snapping
"Worse things? We just survived a storm, two of us almost dying from the gold, crashed a train…monsters…grimm hybrid…terorist…serrial killers…god i'm so tired"lazuli said rubbing her face
"Yeah and i just lost two people i knew for almost a decade. God i can't wait to find watts and blow his dam brains out. Maybe tortured the bastard first"zane said with venom dripping down each word
Ruby looked shocked hearing that"but…but you shouldn't do that. Its not right to kill someone…its not"she aruged
"Oh stop living in a fantasy…we gotta kill those some of those grimm knights. Because news flash…most of them are monster anyway."nadia said before walking into the house right now for a drink because she needs one.
"God i hate this…i feel like we've just been fighting for weeks now. Its not even stopping"blake said tired now
"But…but we sighed up for this. We agreed to stop the other kingdoms from being desotyred"ruby said with worry wondering why they were acting so different right now
"We sighed up to try and save the world. I was praticulary forced into this…where just dleaying the inevitable"osca groaned holding his head feeling a pounding headache
"Yeah and last night…why should we even go to atlas?"zephyra asked making some have troubled looks with each other. Because why should they even do it in the first place becuase all it'll do is cause more trouble
"But…we need to do this. We have to"ruby argued again
"Oh we need too? Ozpin hide the relic behind giant doors that are under encormoues school. How long would it take her to find the lamp in the middle of no where"Cardin said irritated now
"But the grimm might–"ruby was stopped
But what? Because they'll just find it eventually bury it in the snow then it would take years for them to find it. And we can just be done now….you know what give me that"rogue said snatching the relic from her friend hands
Then she walked over toward the well close by as she just tossed it into the well. This made ruby go wide eyed rushing over staring into the well seeing the faint glow slowly disappear with a darkness all around it. But then noticed a set of glowing red eyes staring at her as she yelped
Rogue clapped her hands"their problem solved….lets get this over with"she said with a dazed look
"Why would you do that?! No! No! You might have doomed everyone!"ruby shouted but they all just gave her very dazed looks which she noticed. It look like all of them where losing the will of their mission right now
"Red its fine….becuase now we can just enjoy our lives"lazuli said annoyed now
"No it isn't! I saw something down their a set of glowing eyes! Their are grimm down their….thats why the cellar as locked!"ruby shouted as it caught zane attention right now as he felt a little daze snapping out of it
"What?"he replied walking over staring down their for a moment glancing around before something went up his spine feeling a shiver
"Okay i feel like something is down their kid. I think maybe grimm"bane said in his head
"Uhhhh i think ruby is right….theirs something down their with the lamp"he agreed to her surprise as summer was a little confused herself as her eyes returned to normal but felt dazed
"Alright this is strange but….we should just leave the lamp in my opinion. It might be dangerous"summer said but her daughter glared at her as she stomped her foot down in the snow
"We are not leaving without the lamp!"ruby shouted at them as most of them just cotnineud to stare at her dazedly as weiss rubbed her face
"Fine we'll go grab the lamp"weiss said
"I'll come to gotta make sure my sister doesn't get herself hurt"yang replied yawning a little
"Sure whatever…not all of us need to be down their. Some of us should stay with the truck"onxyia said as joining them also was lazuli, adam, rogue as they all walked inside. While they did summer held her head as it throbbed
"Are you okay dear?"maria asked concerned
"I think so….ughhh this headache is killing me right now"summer replied
As the relic retrieval group managed to slide their way down the well hoping down. Once they were down their they were met by a long winding tunnel with water on the ground that seemed to make it resemble an underground waterway system
"This isn't creepy right now…seriously i regret this now"yang commented
"Lets just get this over with. Current probably rook it away"adam said
They all turned on their scrolls flashlight to illuminate the area around them. They all began to make their way into searching for the relic right now but something deeper in the tunnels was waiting for them right now
Back above the ground everyone else was either tired or just mopping around with themselves. But maria was reading the diary again as something caught her attention on a page.
"Hmmm interesting"she siad alout getting some attention
"Whats did you find something or whatever?"blake aksed yanwing right now
"If its something dumb don't say it"cardin added as she deicded to read the page aloud to them right now
"No it says here that the farmer appernelty found something a couple months ago. Apparently that little girl that went missing a while back came back. But…she was very different with one of the workers almost shooting her head off"maria read aloud making some nervous right now
"What do you mean by different?"zephyra questioned as maria kept reading the what was visible on the page right now.
"Well apparently that little girl came back with white skin"maria answered which caught their attention as they only thought of one thing right now
"Oh she was a grimm hybrid….i'm assuming they killed her"cardin replied saddly but their was more
"Actually no when they realzied it was her. They welcomed her with open arms, they found it strange but asked her what happened. Which made her cry though the mother was very happy to see her actually. Although something seemed to happen at one point"maria continued reading flipping another page to find something that was visible
"Why do mean something happened?"may questioned now starting to feel a little more focused now as her eyes slowly undialted
Maria read a little more before riaisng an eyebrow"Says here the little girl could control grimm. One day while playing with some kids the owner heard some screaming. Which made him and others grab weapons finding a bunch of strange grimm near some of the kids. But they weren't attacking them. Seems his little girl called some friends to the farm"maria cotninued as they found that funny
"Huh so she was like piper"cardin commneted confusing the women
"Who are you talking about?"maria questioned
"Another little girl we knew who was part grimm. She has a sister and aunt, though she very hamrless being part uras"may answered as the women turned the page again
But this time their was a drawing with it that showed a humanoid in shape, but seemed similar to an imp that was very tall with long arms that reached long. Along with that it seemed to have long fingers with its looking absolutely horrifying for the drawing right now
"It says here that….his daughter called them her friends. But a huntsman in the farm pointed them out as something known as…the apathy"maria said before going wide eyed tossing the book to the ground running inside right now at a decent pace. With a few of them going wide eyed chasing after her at that moment wondering what these were
Back down in the underground waterway they kept searching for the relic. But they had a tough times searching for it right now. As they passed by some more tunnels which onxyia noticed staring down one seeing a distriallary down here
"Seems this is how they made their wine…must have function as a winery as well"she commented
"Probably…but lets hurry this up before auntie drinks herself to death again'lazuli said irriaated
"Well we can't exactly find it. Because this dumb tunnel is too long"rogue whinced in annoyance
"Shut the lights off on our scrolls. Look for the glow"adam suggested making ruby nerovusly turn her off. Then she pulls out crescent rose at the ready as she slowly took the charge. As she did cotniuing down the path.
Then lazuli noticed something"their it is the dumb lightbulb"she said poitning at a faint glow down the tunell. Immediately ruby runs forward by herself to grab as she reached for it picking it up. But then she heard the cracking of bones as she looked up with a horrified expression.
That being a humanoi in shape with very tall and long arms that reached far to the ground. Their fingers where long with hideous face resembling skulls lacking nostrils for some with low hanging jaws. As some of them stood tall with others being hunched over.
Then all of them turned to face ruby as she let out an ear bleeding scream that echoed in the tunnel. This snapped everyone back into reality at that moment as their pupils all returned to normal
"What is going on?!"onxyia shouted
Then rogue noticed the grimm"Ruby move!"she shouted as the teen dove on the ground. Raising the gauntlet rogue could feel heat coming from her hand. Then she fired a stream of fire into the grimm igntiing them in flames. As this reuslted in covering them as they all turned to run away from them.
"What the heck are those things?!"lazuli shouted
"Less talking more running!"onxyia shouted as soon enough one of the grimms before they turned to ash let out an ear bleeding scream. As the scream happedn suddnely all of them started to slow down at that moment. Along with feeling very heavy and exhausted right now
"What the…what is happening?"adam question struggling to pick himself up right now
"My weapoon…why does it feel so heavy"rogue said struggling to lift her axe off the ground right now like gravity dust held it down. Then soon enough maria along with cardin and came down with shocked looks
"Run!"maria shouted to them as immediately they noticed her. But deciding to not question it further they turn around picking themselves up as they ran down the hall. The grimm behind them started to die slwoly behind them
They all sprinted toward the exit where the light was shinning from the tunnel. But as they were sprinting over their running through the complex tunnels. Soon enough a much larger group fo apathy emerged from one end of the room. Which made them stop in their tracks
"Crap! More of them!"cardin shouted before blake noticed the stairs leading to the cellar door rushing to it.
"Over here! The cellar door!"She called out as they rushed over their but the one grimm let out another ear piercing scream. Which caused them all to fall onto all fours from the ear piericng screech onto the ground strguggling to move.
"No…i…can't…stand anymore"lazuli said struggling as she fell to the ground
Maria tried to pickherself up to support hself with her cane but collapsed again. Then she fell near the stairs as she struggled to pick herself up.
"We…need an exit!"adam shouted. But then ruby began crawling foward pratirucalry dragging herself toward to her sister shaking her
"Come on!"she shouted making weiss move slowly on the ground as all of them where struggling. But onxyia soon collapsed onto the ground with her legs giving out as the grimm inched closer to her
"Onxyia….get up!"ruby shouted as the wolf looked up with very dilated pupils as she layed her head on the ground
"It fines…everything is fine"onxyia said
Onxyia then became even more dazed from before with more grimm emrgeinc where they all just came from. Ruby looks on it horror in desperation crawling with each attempt to reach onxyia in time. But she layed donw motionless right now as the grimm reached their hands out about to grab her
Then immedialty her vision flashed to show pyrrha being killed by bonnie then it showed coco laying dead on the ground on havan academt grouns. Then she just had something wake up inside her
"NOOO!"ruby shouted as yelling out for her friend then they started to glow brightly which caused the grimm to back away in pain as they hissed from it. This caused onxyia to gasp snapping out of her trance with her eyes normal again. Then the others snapped back out of it
Adam immediately rushed over hosiitng the wolf to her feet dragging her back to the stairs.
"I got her!"he shouted
As cardin got to the cellar door he began to pound on the door as on the other side the chain moved around.
"Dammit! Its locked help me bust this open!"cardin shotued as yang joined him but the grimm reocvered letting out another ear bleeding screem. This made them all fall back to the ground as the grimm started to move
As they all fell back down maria moved over staring at ruby who eyes matched with hers but she had one eye
"Ruby…dear you have friends? Family? Correct?"maria asked her which confused her right now at that moment
"Huh?"ruby replied looking up seeing them getting closer. Maria moved her head placing it on her lap as she covered her ears. Then started to speak to her as next words sounds slightly muffled.
"Did that mother of your teach you anything. Think about the people who love you. Focus on those thought of them, the way they make you feel! Focus!"maria shotued
Taking her advice right now ruby began to close her eyes and concentrate. While maria kept speaking her voice was muffled. As rogue and lazuli tried to push the door open as cardin reached out in depsiration to escape. Before he gave up falling to the ground
"Life is beautiful. It is precious…it needs to be protected"maria said
Then after focusing all her attention on the instructions given to her. Ruby opened her eyes with silver gleaming off then she sat up with her eyes glowing brightly once more. This drove the grimm back disintegrating some of them as ruby was in awe right now as maria smiled. Then immediately the rest recovered as cardin and yang both tackled into the cellar door
They all then arrived into the room they found it in with nadia at the counter with a bottle of liquor in hand
"Uhhh hey you kiddios…find your dump lamp?"nadia asked with slureed words as they all rushed out of the cellar.
"No time we gotta burn these things. These will do"lazuli said grabbing several bottles off the shelf with cardin helping her. Then the two began to throw several bottles into the hole right now ocnfusing the faunus
"Hey your wasting perfectly good booze!"nadia shouted with slurred words as the rest ran out of the room to go get the snowcat started. But then cardin began to drag her away as the grimm where emerging from down below which made her look stunned as she screamed
"What the hell are those things?!"she shotued in fear
"Quesitons for later! Burn them!"Cardin shouted as he dragged her away from them. Then lazuli aimed a fire bolt into the hole firing at one of the grimm nailing them. As it set them all ablaze right now still walking toward them. Then immediately she dashed out of the house
As everyone else was hoping into the back of the truck with yang along with blake in the front seat. The blonde tiwsted the key to start the ignation as cardin handed nadia to some others hosting her inside the vehicle. As lazuli jumepd into it
"Go! Go! Go!"she said several times as the blonde pressed down on the pedal as they began to sped off away from the burning home. As they watched the farmstead slowly burning down with the fire starting to spread to the others homes at that moment
As they drove away from the grimm for a bit they had a small window allowing them all to talk right now. With nate body in the middle as they avoided to step on him at that moment as a sign of respect also covering his face with a blanket
"What the heck happened down their?"zephyra questioned
"The apathy. They are not strong or furious grimm. But they can drain your will to go on…it must have been barlebys daugther. She came back as one of those grimm hybrids…she must have had the ability to control that grimm"maria replied
Summer held the book readying it more"we found our little girl who seems different. The news has gone around saying their are grimm knights going around. But she would never hurt someone which was proven right. Though she could control these strange grimm…saying they where her friends"she read
"The next page talks about how soon enough more got underneath the estate. Most of the staff where gone and the remaining staff with the parents. They threw her into the lake thinking they'll go away if she…"maria paused on that part as both adam and may went wide eyed
"Oh my god…we…we saw a body in the water. That was her…they drowned a little girl"may said horrified right now
"Seems that they didn't, they stayed behind. Along with that dango fellow he must have opened the cellar door which got them to get him as well."maria said as they stayed silent until it was broken
"Sorry for how i reacted early back at the house"Cardin aplogogized
"Your good sorry i said we should give up. We've already put alot of work in"zephyra said as hearing this yang stopped the truck as it halted to a screeching stop.
"Same here…gotta keep that lamp safe."yang said
Rogue tapped her fingers blushing slightly"Sorry for throwing it down the well. but…"She paused staring at her hand right now seeing it all metal looking now. Then she touched it as it felt very smooth compared to the previous bully material. As the runes looked like it was grafted to her skin.
"Guss i also need to get used to um this….umm ember"she called out as the fire spirit didn't respond at first until she responded emerring with an upset expression
"I told you to take me off…but now…i'm stuck on your arm foreverer"ember sadly said as they waited for her to start begging and pelading with her. But the blonde did the opposite
"Oh thats cool…guess i can shoot flames from my hand now."rogue siad with a smile which didn't surprise them at all that was her reaction
"Course you would find this awesome. But does that mean he died because of those things?"cardin asked gesutring to nate
"It might be….two poor souls lost on our journey. Sorry for your lose"summer said to zane who kept a narrowed gaze hugging himself right now that he lost two comrades as onxyia pulled him over into a side embrace to comfort him.
"But i have a question? How did you make me do that with my eyes?"ruby asked before maria shot summer with a look who noticed this
"I'm surpsied your mother didn't tell you. I thought my student taught you better than that…you didn't even explain her eyes powers did you?"mari asked jabbing her cane into her chest a few times
"Ummm well…i…i have been in self isolation for a decade..i..wanted to spend time with my family."summer admitted embrassed because she really wanted to spend time with her daughter
The old women chuckled at that"oh…so you did what i did. After i lost my powers of my eyes well cut in half if you will"maria said which caught them offgaurd hearing her say they got cut in half
"What do you mean by they got cut in half?"may asked as the old women sighed beginning her tale on how she lost her silver eyes to someone.
Many years ago
It was years ago go as in a mounterions like region rigth now. Their was a lone bridge their as walking across it at that moment was a young women
A very beautiful young women with shoulder length black ash hair, as she was tall. While she wore an ornate skull mask that is all but completely concealed her face except her lower jaw. She wore a laced waist cincncher over a long blue tunic and a dark grey hemline that fell over a dark teal skirt that is also had some of the same grey hem. The tunic opens in a v to reveal an off white folded collar. The long sleeves are alsoc inched just above the elbows. With all three cinehs and the hem sproted the same dark gray as the hooded cloak she wore. Her boots were dark brown with a dark blue skull necklace
As on her hips where a pair of kama that contained cyndircial pieces of gravity dusk with a skull atop them with a hidden gun barrel their.
The women kept walking the bridge for a long time until halfway across she heard the screech of a nevermore. As she turned to her left seeing one appear as she drew both her weapons at the ready dubbed life and death
The young maria bakcflipped off the bridge just as the nevermore ramed through it spltiing it in half. Then she threw one sickle into the nevermore wing piericng it and pressed a trigger on her other to activated the gravity dust bring her forward toward it
This dragged the nvermore with her as she threw the other one into the wall above her. Then she shot up proeprling foward quickly retreiving it as she got onto the nevermore with the other. Then she fired her weapon off using th recoil to spin and grpapled into the nevermore. Then she in quick and swift motion threw the other back into the mountain using the gravity dust to pull them inot the mountside crashing into it
Then maria landed on the ground quickly picking up her sickle as she recalled the other. But as she got down as the nevermore stared at her screeching at catching her by surprise slightly. But it tired to swip at her as she backed up before a bright light came from her eyes that engulfed the nevermore in it
After sometime the bright light died down to reveal the nevermore turned to stone becoming petrified. She scoffed beginning to figure out a way to leave this place. But then felt a pulse go off in the back of her head as she quickly deflect some bullets coming at her
Then she noticed someone apporahcing her that being a man in his late twenties with a set of black eyes. With tan skin like hes been in the sun all day along with having long brown hair that looked messy. Along with that he sported a pair of black pants with a purple longsleeve shirt. Along with a purple field jacket on his back with one symbol on the back. The unseen eye as he carried a pair of dual khopesh swords in hand.
"Well aren;t you just interesting…i get to meet the grimm reaper. I've hear alot about you"the man said as by his side where four cultist at the ready right now
"If you know my name then you should go away"maria demanded
"Of course i do…i the speaker for my queen salem jacko vincent. Will kill you and bring your eyes to her"jacko said as he was one of naca old relatives
Then as the six stared eahc other down immediately jacko dashed forward with his swords dleiveirng several slashs at her body. But maria attacked back sending him back knocking his aura down but she knocked some of her dwon. As he quickly spin kicked her back knocking one of her sickels out of her hands
As the four cultist rushed forward trying to stab her to death at that moment for their queen. Though immediately maria pulled out her other sickle as in a swift motion she moved through the four of them as in a swift motion she cut the four down killing them as they dropped dead to the ground. But jacko struck again as he tackled her back making her aura flicker now
Then as she stumbled slightly she pressed a button on her other sickle returning it. As she pressed a button as she combined the two of them together to form a glaive type staff. Immedialty the two got into another clash as she began to get into a power struggle with him. But as the two got into a stand still he reeled his head back headbutting her in the face
This resulted in her being pushed back as her mask was destroyed on impact shattering. As she opened her eys she went wide eyed as he slashed at the left side of her face
As it was silent for a moment maria cried out screaming in pain holding her left side. Her cornea was slashed as she screamed in pain with her eye bleeding right now. While jacko sighed flipping his sword in hand
"Oh you almost had me but i'm the best assassin in my family little group"jacko tuanted walking forward menagicly toward her. She cotninued to cry out in pain grabbing one sickle pressing a trigger seeing hims tnading their. But all she could hear is a click who pretended to dodge it
"You know…the only reason i came after you was my mistresses wanted you dead for your eyes. But i mean…your just weak with only one of them. Maybe i should bring you in alive…work with her…you could live?"he offered her a deal
But this just made her in response roar in rage throwing her sickle at him but he dodged that too
"Oh so you've chosen death""jacko said ready to finish her off
As he resided his sword to kill her, she glanced at her other sickle qucikly diving for it. Then clicked the switch o it calling the other blade forward. As it embedded itself in jacko back then he fell forward. As maria used the other sickle to cut her down as she fell forward

Everyone say in atsonisment hearing her tale right now that she was a legendary huntresses and silver eyed warrior.
"After that i went into hiding in fear…because i was scared that even without one of my eyes. She would hunt me down"maria sadly finished as summer went wide eyed

As that meant the man who took care of nora and ren along with being summer mentor. That he was actually alive and turned into a grimm knight as summer began to shake a little before smiling with tears flowing down her face
"He…hes actually alive? Are you sure….i..i…my old friend isn't dead because of me?"summer asked teary eyed as they pointed something out
"Uhhh he has one of the chimera grimm inside him then. He…he isn't in control of his body"lazuli pointed out as they all dreaded that for a moment confusing maria for a moment. Until suddenly onxyia scroll began to ring as she pulled it out gasping.
"Its eria!"she shouted making them shocked as the wolf answered it putting it on speaker
"Hello!"she asked excited with her tail wagging
"Oh my god! Your okay! Is everyone else with you my scroll got your signal which means your close!"Eria shotued on the other end.
"Wait does that mean where near the city now?"cardin asked excited as they soon got over the hill as the snow was clearing up. Then as they got to the other side of the hill they all looked in awe of what was in front of them. That being the wall city in the distance which was argus
Rogue smiled standing up pointing at her home"onward to argus! I'll give you guys the grand tour!"he cheered as they began to move onto the city finally here
