Pictures on the fridge

Caroline I've said previously that I won't write any more birthday oneshots, and I've already covered Mother's Day for this year, so I hope you don't mind not having a specific day attached to the pictures created :). Here is a oneshot of Neal drawing a picture for Snow which she puts on the fridge. At the end of the day Emma decides to give her a picture she drew when she was younger of her with the family she wanted and they're very much like Snow and Charming.

"Aww that's beautiful Neal." Snow said proudly as she held the drawing in front of her. "Is this you with mommy and daddy?" She asked. Neal nodded happily, scrambling up onto his mommy's knee as Charming peaked over her shoulder.

"There's you, there's daddy and there's me in the middle." He said, pointing to each little scribble in turn. Emma watched from the couch, feeling like she was intruding on the little family moment. Charming was acutely aware of her presence.

"Where are Emma and Henry buddy?" Charming asked him. "You've not drawn them on! Can't be a family picture without them!"

"They're right here silly!" Neal said, pointing to two little smudges that went along with the scribbles of himself, Snow and Neal. Emma smiled gratefully.

"Well this is wonderful, little man." Snow said, kissing his cheek and shifting him onto the chair so she could get up. "I'm going to put it up on the fridge right now with my favourite magnet." She declared, doing so. Neal looked on proudly, another drawing added to his little gallery. Emma just watched, knowing moments like this were still bitter sweet for all of them. But there was something Emma could do something to make this one easier.

It took her a long time to find it- but she knew she had it somewhere in her room. That folder Ingrid had kept of her schoolwork. She knew there was a picture she had drawn in there that her parents would appreciate. She eventually found it by that evening and came down with it clutched nervously in her hand. She placed it on the table in front of her parents.

"I drew this when I was around Neal's age." She croaked, voice breaking with nerves. "We were asked to draw our families, and I was in a group home at the time so I just drew what I wanted my parents to be like…it's a little creepy how close I got really." Snow and Charming's eyes were immediately drawn to the picture. Either side of a little stick figure with a blond scribble for hair were two larger stick figures. One with a black smudge of hair and one with blond like hers. Snow picked it up and both she and Charming stared at it in awe.

"Well, we know where this belongs." Snow said, smiling at Charming. He nodded and took the picture off of Snow.

"Since Neal currently has your mom's favourite fridge magnet you can have mine." He announced, pinning up the picture right beside Neal's for all to see. Emma pretended like she thought the whole thing was amusing, but really she was incredibly touched.
