A Little Hazbin Ch. 04
Celest is playing with Razzle in the foyer with Charlie and Vaggie sitting in a love seat not far.
Charlie lets out a sigh as she leans into her girlfriend's side. "She's perfect, Vaggie," the princess lets out a yawn.
Vaggie chuckles while agreeing, "She sure is. And even if she wasn't she'd still be perfect," the Fallen Angel finds herself yawning as well. She then glances out the window. "It's night already?"
"It is?" Charlie looks out the window to see the same thing that her girlfriend did. The blond then digs out her phone. "Woah! It's way past somebody's bedtime."
"Bedtime?" Celest is heard saying and the couple turn to see their daughter yawning as well. "What's that?"
With a chuckle, Charlie gets up and walks over to her daughter. "You see, Sweetie, little girls like you tend to have a lot of energy. But in order to keep up that energy you need sleep and it's best you go to bed about the same time every night," she then picks up Celest.
"But I'm not…" the little girl lets out another nod. "…tired."
Both mothers found themselves gushing at the sight.
Vaggie then tells the child. "Listen to your mom, Celest. Even us parents will need rest," the former Exorcist turns to her girlfriend. "I'll go and prepare a room for Celest. While I do that, how about you give her a bath."
"Yay!" Charlie jumps. "Another first. Let's go give you a bath."
"Yay!" Celest finds herself cheering before asking. "What's a bath?"
.oOo.
"How's the water?" Charlie asks while washing Celest's hair. "It's not too hot is it? Maybe it's too cold."
"The water's fine, Mom," the child leans into her mother's touch. "I think I like baths."
The Princess smiles. "You should. It prevents you from getting stinky. And you don't want to run around all stinky, do you?"
"Nu-uh!" the girl shakes her head. "I don't want to smell like Mr. Husk."
"Celest. That's mean. And we don't talk like that about our friends."
Celest looks down. "Okay, Mom."
"I think I need to add some bath toys to the list and maybe some bubbles," Charlie starts listing off. "I loved bubble baths as a kid. I'm sure you'll love it as well. Of course, we'll need to get you some toys toys and clothes, maybe some—"
"Mom," the girl looks up at her mother. "You're trailing off again."
"Sorry," the woman gives a worried smile. "This is all new to me and your Mama as it is new to you. There's a lot of firsts we want to share with you. You coming into our lives, Celest was unexpected," she sees her daughter slouching a little. "That doesn't mean it's unwelcomed. There's just a lot for us to learn as there is for you to learn."
A knock is heard coming from the door.
"Angel Dust here! I got the box ya wanted!"
Charlie gets up from the tub and goes to open the door just a crack. "Thank you so much, Angel," she then takes a medium sized box from the Spider.
"Ya, ya! I'm that awesome. Look," Angel pulls some cobwebs off of him. "I may have eight limbs but that doesn't mean I like webs. I don't do webs. Never send me up into the attic again."
"Sorry, Angel. We just needed some of this stuff."
"Whatever!" Angel waves her off before leaving here.
Celest watches as her mom brings the box in. "What's that?"
"It's some of my old stuff from when I was about your size," the woman opens the box to take out a small red nightie. "It should fit you," she turns back to her daughter. "Otherwise, you'll have to wear one of mine or your Mama's t-shirts. Now," Charlie sets the clothing on the sink. "Let's get you dried off and dressed."
.oOo.
In one of the previously vacant rooms in the Hotel, Vaggie in her nightgown leans against the doorway while watching Charlie who's in her own pajamas tucking in their daughter.
The Demon Princess then kisses the child. "We love you, Celest."
"Love you too, Mom," the child tells her and then turns her head. "Love you, Mama."
The Fallen Angel smiles as she walks up to the child's bed. "And I love you too, Honey." She plants a kiss as well. "Now, if you need anything, your mom and I's room are just across from here. Feel free to come to us."
"Okay," Celest soon dozes off.
The two women smile at the sight as they crept their way out to make their way into their own room.
"I still can't believe the day passed by so fast," Charlie comments as she and her girlfriend get into their bed.
"I know. I guess the excitement of all this was just too distracting." Vaggie turns to the princess. "You do know that every day will not be as easy as this? Our lives are still complicated. More so after the last Extermination."
"Yeah, I know. But it still makes me excited but also nervous. I mean, what if we mess up?"
"Hun, I think every first-time parents get those thoughts. All we can do is just work through it together."
"Yeah," Charlie smiles as she lays down. "Together."
Vaggie gives another smile as she goes to lay down as well. Only, she is stopped by some knocking. Getting up, the former Exorcist answers the door to find their daughter. "Celest? Is something wrong, Honey?" she kneels.
The child looks down. "I-I woke up and forgot where I was. Even after I remembered, I couldn't go back to sleep."
"Oh, Honey," the grey woman hugs her daughter. "How would you like to sleep with us tonight?" she looks back at the blond woman who offers a nod of approval. "Here!" Vaggie picks the little girl up to carry over to the bed and both women tucked the child between them.
"How's that, Celest?" Charlie asks.
"That's fine, Mom," the girl replies but has no evidence of sleep in her eyes.
"Not tired yet, huh? How about a story? They used to help me go to bed when I had trouble."
"What kind of story?"
The princess thought for a moment before looking over at her girlfriend. "How about, there once was a beautiful Angel."
Vaggie smiles. "Who lives with a lovely princess. The Angel had fallen from a great height but the Princess was there to catch here."
"The Princess had a big dream one that the Angel was more than happy to leaned a hand."
"The Angel didn't mean to, but she found that she was in love with the Princess."
Charlie smiles at her girlfriend. "And the same for the Princess. But once the dream was close enough to reach, the two found themselves wanting more for themselves. They wanted a family."
The two looked down and see that the little girl was finally getting tired again. Vaggie continues. "Out of the need for that family, the Princess and Angel spent nearly an entire night making a doll. A special doll that they agreed to cherish as if it was truly their child."
"Once they were finished, they made a wish for that doll to be real."
"And the next morning, to their surprise, the doll became a child. It was that moment the Angel and Princess got their wish."
"The Angel and Princess then made a promise to love and care for that child no matter what."
There is then a faint snore coming from between them. The Little girl had fallen asleep.
Charlie kisses the child on the cheek. "Goodnight, Celest."
Vaggie does the same. "We love you," she then looks over at her girlfriend. "Love you, Charlie."
The Princess had to stifle a giggle in hopes as to not wake up their daughter. "Love you too, Vaggie." The couple then kissed one another goodnight before they to fell asleep.
