This is a Star Wars short that takes place 1.5 years into the Clone Wars between Star Wars episode 2 and 3. Star Wars was created by George Lucas and 20th Century Fox. I didn't write it or create it am just a fan.
"Songs from this Planet Called Earth"
Jedi Temple Hangar,Coruscant, early evening.
Anakin, fixes some data drives on Artoo's droid systems while listening to music videos playing live from Corellia on the Holonet.
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry Artoo I'm almost done here with you," says Anakin as he uses a tool. Artoo beeps loudly a sound of approval.
All of a sudden, the image of a blue and green female Twi'lek as well as a male green Rodian singing are replaced by static and then an image of a large human male and three other human males appears,and they are singing a language that is Basic but also wearing very unusual clothing; a large brimmed hat and some pointed shoes made of material similar to that of Dewback leather that the smugglers on Mos Espa used to wear.
"What is this? Threepio do a scan of this song find out it's origins," Anakin says.
"Yes, Master Anakin," as he plugs into a computer nearby and within a minute a computer readout on a screen across the room appears and all of a sudden the image of another galaxy appears as well as a solar system consisting of nine planets and a class m5 yellow star at its center, and the location and origin of the song is introduced as an image of a blue world similar to Alderaan and Naboo with 7 continents and with an 8th and 9th continents emerging out of two different bodies of water.
"Master Anakin, it seems that the location of this unique musical pattern is coming from another galaxy altogether, and is originating from that blue planet in this solar system of said galaxy, therefore making it not come anywhere in our native galaxy at all much less from the Republic itself. The image and time period you see for this planet, says April 25, 2025. The probe appears to have been launched on March 17, 2017."
"Wow, an entirely new galaxy!" says Anakin.
"Master Anakin the musical transmission came from this, a crudely made space probe with a large white disk with a metal aperture in the center. It has the words, "NASA" and "Voyager 4" on the side of the probe at the base of it, as well as an picture of a flag with red stripes, and a blue box with white 50 five pointed symbols, and the words "United States of America". This probe includes some visual images but mainly audio files and large numbers of them stored on its drives, it contains tools such that emit ancient forms of communication called "radio waves". The name of the planet this transmission comes from is called Earth."
"What is the current location of this probe, Threepio?" Anakin asks. "How do you think it got to our galaxy? Is there a record of that?" asks Anakin.
"It's coming near the Outer Rim on the other side of Tatooine," says Threepio. "Well from what visual recordings that could be found, it slipped through a black hole near the center of its native galaxy and ended up out of a white hole, more than 57 light years away. According to these scans of its records, the name of its galaxy is called the Milky Way Galaxy." C-3PO finishes.
"Im going to go get it, come on Artoo!" Anakin says putting on his cloak and adjusting his belt and lightsaber. "I heard stories about black holes ever since I was a kid on Tatooine. Padme and her sisters have too while they were kids on Naboo."
"All of this just to get a probe with musical patterns from a small planet?" asks Threepio.
"Yes, the Hutts cannot get their hands on this and they're still in control on Tatooine," says Anakin. Give me a transmission router and plug it into my ship so Artoo can use it to help me, Threepio!" he says."This probe could be very valuable Threepio, it could contain information about another galaxy, and the Hutts are criminals and they can't be allowed access to it," Anakin says getting his backpack off the table."Tell Obi Wan and Padme I will explain after I jump into hyperspace, too" says Anakin.
Threepio watches Artoo follows Anakin to his ship and then they leave.
As Anakin puts on his comlink, he says, "See if you can duplicate the radio frequencies coming from that probe be so I can hear more of this planet's musical patterns. I have already plugged the transmission adapter in that Threepio gave me." says Anakin.
Artoo beeps reassuredly, and Anakin's Jedi Starfighter equips itself with a hyperspace module and then they fly through the early evening skies of Coruscant out of the atmosphere and into hyperspace.
"We went went tail lights fadin' from blue lights chasin' , Cut a path through the country road off route 44, Tore Up a fence jumpin' a ditch, Felt so good, We didn't want it to end,"
It was the man that was wearing Dewback skin like boots and blue rough looking trousers and yellow brimmed hat again, Anakin observed. The sounds of the musical pattern come from the transmission module of the fighter craft and its audio output. The read out underneath the musical pattern said: "We Went", by Randy Hauser released April 27,2015, produced in Sierra Vista, Arizona,"
Anakin listened to the song in its entirety and thought it was rather crude, it brought up other questions, such as where is Sierra Vista, Arizona at and who is Randy Hauser? Is Randy Hauser some important person from this planet called Earth?
"Artoo are there multiple channels included in this transmission adapter? That last musical pattern was a bit crude in its nature,"says Anakin grimacing. Artoo beeps a few times. "Artoo, are you saying that there is a possibility that the extra-planetary origin of this musical pattern could be that of a primitive civilization? Perhaps we can find out more from hearing a different type of musical pattern." Artoo switches the transmission to a different channel, and all of a sudden a different type of rhythmic musical pattern plays.
"Come on, come on, turn the radio on, its Saturday and I won't be long, gotta paint my nails, put my high heels on, its Saturday and I won't be long."
Anakin really seemed to like this new musical pattern, so he listened to it in full length and then read the description. "Cheap Thrills, sang by Sia and produced February 11, 2016."
"Artoo, do you think that probe contains other information other than just musical patterns about life on this planet? It seems different, it seems special even, too special let it fall into the control of the Hutts or the Separatists, or even the Republic. Play another one, a much older slow one would be fine, too."
Artoo, does just that, with a strange noise, he switches the transmission frequency to one labeled "90s".
"Well, I'm down on my knees again, And I pray to the only one, Who has the strength to bear the pain, To forgive all the things that I've done,
"Oh girl, lead me into your darkness, When this world is trying its hardest, To leave me unimpressed, Just one caress, and from you I'm blessed."
Anakin is left utterly spellbound by this recording, the information about it appears on the console and it says: "One Caress, produced by Depeche Mode, released November 4,1993. in London,England."
Anakin thinks for a moment then he says to Artoo, "Apparently this is a civilization that is also capable of love and beauty and forming connections, as well as passion."
Anakin's starfighter comes out of hyperspace near Tatoo 1, one of Tatooine's twin suns and sees the space probe sitting there and manages to get a small tractor beam lock on it and pulls it away quickly before any nearby Hutts or Separatist droids can sense him and stop him.
