ChildLine
bluerose921 asked for a oneshot of Snowing getting worried because Emma is always busy on her day off and is spending all her extra money and it turns out she's been doing charity work.
"Is she gone again?" Charming asked, shocked. Sunday was their only day off from the station with Red and Grumpy covering, but Emma always seemed to be up super early on her day off and was always away before Snow and Charming were up with Neal, and Neal was no late sleeper.
"Where is she going to? She can't be jogging or going to the gym. One: Emma doesn't do standard exercise and two: she'd be home all sweaty within a couple of hours. She's never back until late." Snow pointed out. "Also, I know the gym isn't exactly cheap, but it's not that extortionate. Emma never seems to have any money to spend on herself anymore."
"Well, I'm not one for mysteries. I'm going out to find her." Charming said, his mind made up.
"Well we're coming too!" Snow said, already placing Neal in his stroller. "It's doing my head in not knowing what she's up to."
"Yeah, me too. But we'll find out soon enough. Storybrooke isn't that big. I'm sure we'll find her within the hour."
It was three and a half hours later when Snow and Charming found their daughter (after a trail of several mini interrogations) cooped up in the community centre, answering Storybrooke's ChildLine phone.
"Emma?" Charming said, causing Emma to look up. She didn't seem surprised to see them. "What are you doing here?"
"Mrs Feldman was their person on the phone on a Sunday. But when Galina died in September they couldn't find another volunteer to man the line. I stepped in. I wouldn't want any child to feel the way I did growing up. I give a lot to support them too, they need the funds for bills and licences.
"So we noticed." Snow said gently. "Emma, we couldn't be more proud of how selfless you're being doing all of this, but it's not fair on you. You need a break too, sweetheart."
"Not half as much as these kids need someone to talk to." Emma said stubbornly.
"Yes honey, nobody's saying they don't, but you need to rest. Otherwise you could end up getting hurt. How about this: your mother and I can be pretty persuasive. We'll get a few extra recruits for Sundays and set them up on shifts. The summer festival will be being held on the twenty third of August, we can make it a massive fundraising event for ChildLine, ok?" Emma smiled, please her parents were so on board.
"Great idea! I'll start drawing up some plans. Thanks guys, this means a lot."
"Of course, sweetie. We understand that you're passionate about this, and if you support it then we support it." Charming said, kissing Emma's cheek. They too would not see a child lost and alone with nobody to turn to.
