No good reason- part 2

A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch939 "No good reason" where Emma avoids her parents and everyone else because she thinks they'll be on their side. She tries to take Henry and leave town, but the group stop her.

CreativeWriter3: I'm so glad you're enjoying the stories! Unfortunately, I've already covered a hostage situation within the Charming family :/ just let me know if there's something else I can write for you :).

Once lover: I'm afraid that would come under the category of Emma's parents seeing a video of her.

It had been a week since Zelena had dealt the earth-shattering revolution to Emma and she was still refusing to be near them, let alone speak to them. She was even avoiding people with any connection to her parents. Even Hook and Regina seemed to be playing Devil's advocate for them. Emma had finally had enough, she didn't need this. She left her good life in New York for them and it turned out this life was as much a lie as her false memories were. Well if she was going to have to live a lie she might as well do it in a city with access to good pizza and no threats from magical creatures.

"But I don't want to leave!" Henry protested as Emma swung his trunk into the boot of her car. "We only just got back. I just got my real memories back. I'm not going."

"Oh yes you are." Emma grunted as she swung her own suitcase in. She hadn't told Henry about what Zelena had told her. She didn't need his feelings hurt over this too. He had just been told she and her parents had got into a massive fight and there was no making up after it. "You'll understand one day, it's for the best."

"Yeah, for you maybe." He said coldly. Emma sighed as she slammed the lid of the boot and walked over, placing her hands on his shoulders. Emma couldn't help but think this would have gone a lot smoother if he still had his fake memories.

"And for you." She promised him. "Just trust me, ok? We need to get out of here." Henry pulled away from her but stormed over to the passenger side of the car and sat down on the seat, slamming the door behind him. Emma was grateful that he was at least vaguely cooperating, but since he had immediately plugged his earphones into his IPod and had Linkin Park blasting out at full volume Emma knew this wasn't going to be a pleasant ride. Maybe when she got back to New York she'd buy him that IPhone he'd been bugging her about. That might get him back on side. Emma turned the key in the ignition and set off for their new life.

"Oh what?" Emma groaned as she approached the town line. The sight even had the power to make Henry stop his music and take the earphones out. Stretching the town line and blocking the car from leaving were her parents, Regina, Robin and Hook. Emma reluctantly stopped the car and got out. "What's going on?" She demanded. "How did you all even know I was leaving?"

"Oh you're not leaving." Regina said, stepping forward. "Not with my son. You forget, Miss Swan, I am still his legal custodian. Henry informed us of this little runaway attempt." Emma turned and glowered at her son who just shrugged. Someone had to knock some sense into her. "I have had first-hand experience at how idiotic your parents can be, Miss Swan, and it seems to be something they've passed on to you. Do you really think this is the best solution? Running away like a child? This is exactly what Zelena wants, don't be stupid enough to let her have it."

"What about me, Swan?" Hook asked, not moving away from the line. "Did it ever occur to you that I might like to know that you were leaving?" Emma sighed, unable to look at him.

"I can't stay here. Not after what happened. You would only try and convince me to stay." She pointed out.

"So don't make me try." Hook answered her. "Stay of your own accord. Regina is right, love. Leaving is not the answer."

"Neither was lying to me!" Emma yelled. "You're all on their side. Have any of you taken into account how I feel?"

"Emma, the only person who lied to you was Zelena." Charming told her. "We have already explained ourselves. Of course your magic was not all we came back for and if you think I'm just going to let you leave right after getting you back you've got another thing coming. I'll burst your tires if I have to Emma. You're not leaving."

"I know I won't cope if you go, Emma. My maternal instincts are going haywire right now. If you leave I'll never be the same. Please don't, Emma. Please don't do this to us." Emma wasn't sure that she was ready to forgive her parents yet, but she was beginning to see that perhaps leaving wasn't the brightest idea. She went back to the car and drove it back to Jefferson's old house (where they were currently staying since he'd mysteriously disappeared). To the small group who'd gathered at the line to prevent them leaving that was at least a small victory. They'd won the battle, now they just had to win the war.
