Flying fruit
A guest asked for a oneshot of the Charming family learning Henry has powers.
"Woh this is awesome!" Henry said, as he sent a pear zooming round the kitchen. "I feel like Matilda from the Roald Dahl book. Think Miss Trunchbull is going to come after me?" Emma caught the pear mid-air before placing it back in the fruit bowl.
"Somehow I think not kid. So you just found out you could do this all this morning? There were no warning signs that you can think of? Nothing out of the ordinary?"
"Nope." Henry said, repeating the process with a bunch of grapes (much to Neal's delight). "I woke up this morning wishing that my phone was closer and then suddenly it was. Awesome, right?"
"Yeah!" Neal squealed, jumping up and down and clapping at the sight of the flying fruit. Emma never did anything cool like this with her magic! Snow and Charming were just staring, gobsmacked.
"It is until you either do yourself or someone else an injury. Put the fruit back in the bowl and sit down. You'll find that you get tired out pretty quickly at first."
"I'm not tired." Henry said stubbornly, but even as he said it he could feel the muscles in his arm begin to ache and his head begin to throb. He reluctantly sent the grapes back to the bowl (although some of them went careering all over the counter) and sat down on one of the stools. "Happy?"
"Very." Emma responded curtly. "We don't know the full extent of your powers. You need to be careful how you use them, Henry. In fact, don't use them at all until we can have Blue assess you."
"Aww!" Both Henry and Neal complained. Henry wanted to be able to test out his magic and show off a little whilst Neal was enjoying the show. Fruit was a lot more fun flying round the kitchen than being eaten.
