Operation big blanket

Marina Ka-Fai asked for a oneshot of Rosie and Neal taking all the pocket money they've saved up to Granny and asking her to make an adult sized blanket of Emma's baby blanket for her birthday. They think if her baby one marks her separation from their family, an adult one will remind her that they're finally together.

I'll be starting school again soon so if you want your requests done without a longer wait I'd get them in now!

Neal reached up on his tiptoes and rang the bell at the counter. They didn't have long before someone caught them and made them come home.

"Hi there guys. Where's your mom and dad?" Granny asked, scanning the diner.

"They're at home. We're here alone. We only need to be here for a minute and then we'll go back." He explained. Rosie reached up and placed the bag of assorted change on the counter. "That's all our pocket money, we've been saving up for ages. We don't know exactly how much is in there, but we hope it will be enough for you to help us."

"Help you what? Are you kids in trouble?" They both shook their heads.

"Emma's birthday is coming up, and we were wondering if you could make her a bigger sized version of her blanket?" Rosie piped up shyly. Granny was completely touched by the thought they'd put into their idea for a gift. She took the bag and handed it back to Rosie.

"Keep your money kids. Call this a favour." She said, delighting in the way they smiled.

Two weeks later.

"Happy birthday to you!" The family finished singing as Emma blew out the candles on top of the cake. Parcels in brightly coloured wrapping paper surrounded Emma, but the special one from Rosie and Neal was still upstairs hidden under Neal's bed.

"First we have a little something from Neal and Rosie." Charming said with a smile. Rosie and Neal knew they would do this. Every year at anyone's birthday they got a present from them that neither Rosie nor Neal had ever seen before. Emma unwrapped the present and smiled at the jumper.

"Thanks guys." She said, holding her arms out for her little siblings to come hug her. But neither came over.

"Actually, that's not all from us." Neal said, he and Rosie getting up. Snow and Charming were just as surprised as Emma, they hadn't got anything else labelled from them. What had they been up to?

The pair came down a moment later, a little neatly folded bundle shared between them. The came over and held it out to Emma. Curiously, Emma took it from them and unfolded it. She gasped. It was an exact replica of her baby blanket, except this one went from her neck to her knees. It was made from the exact same material and the ribbon with her name on it was the exact same shade of purple.

"We asked Granny to make you a bigger one." Rosie said.

"We thought since your baby one was a sign of your separation from mom and dad, you should get a new one. This one can remind you that we're finally together." Emma was tearing up, as were their parents. It was such a beautiful gesture. Emma pulled them over and kissed both their cheeks.

"You guys, this is so sweet. I love it. Thank you." She said. Rosie and Neal smiled over at each other. Mission complete.
