Bomb

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma having a bomb on her and the bomb squad trying to defuse it (they definitely wouldn't want to detonate it!) while her parents watch in distress. Whilst it's happening Snow tries to calm her daughter down and later on comforts her after she is rescued.

"Emma, I need you to stay nice and calm for me…"

"Calm?! I have a fucking bomb strapped to my chest and you want me to stay calm?!" Emma screeched.

"Emma, she's right. She's going to sort this for you, but you need to stay calm. Sudden movements could…not end so well." Snow desperately wanted to keep Emma calm, despite neither she nor Charming feeling calm about the situation themselves. It was vital that Emma stay calm enough for the bomb squad member to come up close and defuse the bomb. The villains of Storybrooke were becoming more modern with their ways to spread fear and pain.

"My name is Deborah Aisenberg, Emma." The woman said calmly. Back in the Enchanted Forest I helped clear up any mess made by loose magic, seemed to make sense my cursed counterpart handled bombs. "I'm going to help you disable this bomb. You're going to be just fine."

"Oh yeah, help from someone who got their knowledge from a curse. Real assuring!" Emma said sarcastically, frozen to the spot.

"Emma she knows what she's doing curse or not. Just stay calm honey. You're going to be alright." Charming called over.

"Tell us about New York." Snow blurted out. "What's the Big Apple like Emma? Describe it to us."

"Now?!"

"Yes, now." Snow said. They had to keep her distracted.

"Uh, cold!" Emma blurted out, picking out the first thing she thought off. Charming cottoned on to what Snow was doing.

"Great start Em, tell us about the city at night." Charming said.

Together, he and Snow got Emma distracted just enough for Deborah to get to work clipping wires. Everyone's hearts were in their mouths. The tick tock of the clock ticking down till the explosion was almost too much to bear. But eventually (with one minute and eight seconds to spare) Deborah got the bomb defused and the harness off of Emma. Snow and Charming sprinted forward, pulling her into a group hug. Poor Emma was so overwhelmed she just burst into tears.

"It's ok." Snow said soothingly, her hands resting against Emma's blond waves. "You were so brave." Charming kissed Emma's head.

"But never do that to us again. I think I speak for both of us when I say I've never been so terrified."

"You do." Snow confirmed, confident both she and Charming weren't going to let go of Emma any time soon.
