Proposal
A guest asked for a oneshot of the Charmings having a competition on Miner's Day to see who can sell the most candles. While Emma unsuccessfully tries to sell her share, Killian buys all of Snowing and Henry's candles and sets them up in a romantic spot in preparation to propose.
"Oh come on Emma, it'll be fun!" Snow insisted. "I'm not sure we can get Grumpy to cut the town's electric line again this year, so we're just going to have to rely on charm to sell the candles. Fortunately charm seems to run in this family." She joked.
"Fine." Emma sighed. "But I wasn't very good at door to door selling when I was a girl scout selling cookies, I don't think selling candles as an adult will be much different."
"Oh I'm sure you'll be just fine sweetie." Snow said, handing Emma her box. Emma gave her parents a funny look. Her mom seemed overly excited for this stupid candle thing. And her dad seemed weirdly quiet, with an almost contemplative look. Henry seemed to be avoiding her, and he too seemed like he had ants in his pants. There was something weird about today.
"Ok, so your dad's taking the cruiser and Neal down to the south side of town and he'll cover there. Henry and I will take the truck and cover the north and west leaving you with the east in your bug."
"No fair, you both get a cute kid advantage." Emma pouted. "Why can't I have a kid with me?"
"Just because. Now go on, get selling!" Snow said, shooing her out of the door. Emma grumbled under her breath as she packed the candles in her car. What was up with them all today?!
As she suspected, she had no joy. People saw her coming and pretended they weren't home. Emma went from street to street selling only about four candles to people who took pity on her or were elderly and wanted company for a few minutes. She felt her phone buzz and hoped to goodness that was one of her parents saying they'd sold out and she could admit defeat. But no, it was Hook.
How's it going love? Emma responded immediately.
Terrible. I was with Mr Colon for nearly fifteen minutes talking about cats before he bought the damn candle! Don't suppose you fancy giving me a hand shifting these? I'm in the retirement area of town and it's Mrs Birbiglia's house next and I don't think she'll be much better! Emma responded. It didn't take long for Hook to reply.
Sure thing love, I'll help. Can you pick me up at the beach?
Anything for some help here! Emma got straight in her car and headed for the beach. She knew Hook sometimes got caught up staring out to sea so got out to go fetch him.
There was something weird going on. Their seemed to be a path on the beach made by the Miner's Day candles. Curious, Emma followed it and it let her right to Hook.
"What's going on here?" Emma asked him. "You know we're aiming to sell them, not use them?"
"There were sold, love, to me. Let's just say all your parents' and son's candles were pre-ordered by me. I thought it might make it a little more romantic."
"Romantic? Why would you want it to be…" But Emma's sentence was cut off as Hook got down on one knee and pulled a small box out of his pocket.
"For this. Emma Swan, will you marry me?" He asked. Emma was totally shell-shocked. She hadn't expected this. "Well love? Don't leave a man in suspense."
"Of course!" Emma croaked out. "Yes, yes I will marry you." Hook got off his knee and strode over to Emma, picking her up and spinning her round. Emma held his face in her hands and kissed him. They were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
