Haunted by darkness

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma telling Snowing that her best friend Lily is Maleficent's daughter. Their reaction to finding out their actions drew Emma and Lily together.

They couldn't believe it. They too felt like fortune's fool. Their actions of seeping all of Emma's potential darkness into Lily had actually bound them together for life in a way only fate could. Their paths were intertwined intricately, and it was all because of them, what they had done. It was like Lily was to be in their faces now for all their lives. A constant reminder, a haunting of the unspeakable action they had committed. It seemed like Emma would never have been able to escape her darkness. If they left it inside her the potential was unknown. Since they didn't, it followed her around in the form of Lily. Should they have just trusted that their daughter would have always been the Saviour? Should they have just left the potential for great darkness inside her like a ticking time bomb? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and in hindsight, yes they probably should have trusted their daughter to be the hero she was and maybe now none of them would be haunted by the deed. Maybe Lily and Emma would never have been connected. Maybe Lily and Maleficent would have lived a happy life together. But all these things, they will now never know.
