You're what?!
A guest asked for a oneshot of Charming and Emma chasing a robber through Storybrooke. Emma stops and throws up suddenly and that's when Charming finds out that she's pregnant. Emma hadn't told anyone else, she'd only found out herself that morning. Charming goes overprotective and forbids her from chasing criminals and puts her on desk duty. Emma objects to this.
"He's gone down Clifton Avenue!" Charming called, zipping down the narrow street as fast as he could. He noticed that Emma was lagging behind him. He turned round to check she was alright and saw her throwing up into a dumpster.
"Go!" Emma called between rounds of vomit. "Catch him!"
"Emma he's gone now. We'll take statements from Mr Tan and Mr Chinn later and nab him later. That looked nasty, are you sick?" Charming asked. Emma pulled her head out of the dumpster and shook her head, wiping her mouth with her sleeve. "Emma are you sure? You're looking awful pale. Here, let me check your temperature…"
"I'm not sick." Emma said, batting his hand away from her forehead. "I'm pregnant."
"You're what?!" Charming cried, astounded. "Since when?"
"I only found out officially for myself this morning when I took a test. Nobody else knows yet. I haven't had a chance to speak to Killian. I was going to tell him after my shift." This was a lot of information for Charming to take in. He was going to be a Pops again? He was going to be a Pops again! His baby was having a baby!...but wait.
"You came on a chase knowing you're pregnant? Emma what were you thinking? Anything could happened to you or the baby."
"Dad, haven't you done this before with mom? I'm fine. So is the baby." Emma tried to calm him down. There was a panicky look about him she had never seen before.
"Don't you think that makes me even more frightened? You're the little baby that I saw grow inside your mother's belly. Now you've got your own little miracle growing inside of you. Don't you understand that's going to make me even more protective?" Charming sighed, bracing himself for the bad reaction he knew was coming. "You're benched. No more field assignments. We've got plenty paperwork to cover you until you start maternity leave."
"What?!" Emma protested. "You can't do that! I have rights!"
"Yes and I have parental rights. Desk duty, end of discussion. Come on, I'll walk you back to the cruiser." Charming carefully wrapped an arm around Emma's shoulders, escorting her back to the car. Emma sighed but began to walk with him. There was no point in arguing when he got like this.
