Coffee anyone?

hailsara1973 asked for a oneshot of Neal disobeying his parents and doing something dangerous that leads to Emma getting badly hurt.

"Oh come on mom, please?" Neal begged.

"Neal, your mother and I have already told you. It's very kind of you to offer to make us coffee, but the kettle is too heavy for you to lift. When you're older, ok?" Charming told him.

"Ok." Neal grumbled, slumping out of the room. He was always too little to do anything! He would show them he wasn't too little. Neal made sure both his parents weren't looking and snuck into the kitchen. He flicked the little switch that boiled the water and got the two mugs ready. He got out the jar with the coffee beans and put some in each much.

The water was soon ready. He picked up the kettle with both hands. Man, this thing was heavy!

"Neal, what are you doing?!" Neal got startled and let go of the kettle…just as Emma reached out to snatch it from him. Emma shoved him out the way and got boiling water all over her arm. Snow and Charming came into the room as they heard her scream.

"What happened?!" Charming asked. "Emma, your arm!"

"It's ok." Emma gasped. Her arm began to glow and the burn disappeared. "There, done…" But as Emma straightened up she began to sway, the use of so much magic to heal herself making her dizzy. Snow and Charming saw the kettle on the ground and Neal in the corner of the room and put two and two together.

"Neal Leopold. What were you told about using the kettle?" Snow demanded.

"I'm sorry." He sniffled. "I just wanted to do something nice."

"And you were told it was too heavy. It's very lucky for you that your sister has magic otherwise she'd have a very nasty injury. Emma, I think you should lie down." Charming said, walking over to Emma. "Come on."

"Emma, I'm really sorry." Neal said, feeling very guilty.

"It's alright buddy." Emma said, as her dad supported her out. "Accidents happen." Charming helped Emma over to the living room to rest.

"I hope you've learned your lesson." Snow said seriously to Neal. "That could have been very serious." Neal nodded glumly. He really had just wanted to do something nice.
