Unusually cranky
Naomi asked for a oneshot of Snow being in a mood and Emma discreetly calling Charming to come and try to cheer her up- in which he succeeds.
"Emma, would you please stop clicking that stupid pen!" Snow snapped from across the room. Emma carefully clicked the ballpoint one last time to make sure the nib was out before continuing with her paperwork. It seemed like everything Emma or Henry did this morning Snow was snippy with. She was even crankier with little Neal. Emma didn't know what the problem was, but she knew who was most likely to be able to solve it. Her dad. She had tried sending him several texts, but he often didn't feel or hear the small vibrations, she was going to have to call him. But if she left the room and started whispering into the phone it would just make her mom angrier, she was going to have to do it out in the open. Fortunately, she and her dad had a system of code numbers they used at the station for various incidents. She picked up her phone and called her dad.
"Hey honey, everything alright?" He said, answering almost immediately.
"Yeah dad, everything's fine. Just filling out the paperwork for that oh-four-six we had the other day." Emma lied.
"Oh-four-six? An angry witch threatening the peace? When did that happen?" (They had some different codes to other precincts).
"Yeah, just sitting here with mom and that oh-four-six. Just thought I'd call to see how you were doing?"
"Oh I see…" Luckily for Emma her dad was pretty good at picking up on these kind of things. "It's not nice to call your mother an angry witch, although I appreciate we don't have a 'mom's in a really bad mood' code. I know what's wrong. I'll be home soon and try and sort things. See you baby." Charming hung up and Emma let out a small sigh of relief. If anyone could sort this it was her dad.
Her dad arrived back home about half an hour later armed with a bunch of daffodils (Snow's favourites) but also a smaller bunch of snowdrops. He came straight over to Snow and handed her the daffodils first. "These are just from me to cheer you up." He said, as Snow's took the flowers feeling a little confused. "These are a reminder from your father. That he would be so proud of the woman and ruler you've become. I know the anniversary of his passing is a tricky day for you, but you're not alone." Without any warning Snow burst into tears and buried herself against Charming's chest. He rubbed soothing circles over her back and murmured reassuring words in her ear. Emma watched on silently from the chair she was sitting in. She knew once her mom had this all out of her system she would be right as rain. She also knew her dad would sort things, he always did.
