Bambi- part 2

A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch929 "Bambi" where Pavla is sick and has to stay at the vets for 3 days. Emma is worried she's been a bad cat mom and Snowing reassure her it could happen to anybody.

"How could I not notice this?" Emma said, pacing the reception area of the vets. "It's the same symptoms in cats as it is in humans. If it was Henry that had to be rushed to the hospital because I hadn't spotted the symptoms of diabetes people would judge me as a bad mom. Just because Pavla's a cat doesn't make that any less true.

"Oh Emma," Charming said, pulling Emma into his arms. "Honey, you're not a bad mom to either Henry or Pavla. It's not true that not noticing the symptoms makes you a bad parent, you didn't know exactly what you were looking for. You thought she was just a little under the weather. It could have happened to any pet owner." Charming tried to reassure her. Emma leaned her head against his chest as he rubbed soothing circles on her back.

"But she nearly died." Emma murmured. "The vet said so."

"But she didn't, did she?" Snow said, coming over and placing her own hand on Emma's back. "The vet also said that now that they know what's wrong with insulin and a controlled diet Pavla will live a long, healthy life, ok?" Emma nodded, still beating herself up about it.

Just then, the vet nurse appeared with Pavla meowing in her arms. Emma untangled herself from her dad's hold and walked over.

"There's my girl!" She said happily, plucking her from the nurse's arms. "Are you feeling better? Mommy was so worried about you." Pavla was now purring contentedly being with her mom.

"See," Snow said gently "if you were a bad mom she wouldn't be so happy to be back with you." Emma smiled. Maybe her parents had a point. Maybe she was being too hard on herself.
