Bath nap
Sam asked for a oneshot of Emma not feeling well so she takes a bath but falls asleep in the tub. Snow gets worried and checks on her. She then has to get Emma out, but Emma's kind of out of it and just keeps saying she's sleepy. Emma wakes up later in her parents' bed and asks what happened.
"Still not feeling any better?" Snow asked, reaching out to place her hand on Emma's forehead. Emma shook her off.
"No, I feel pretty sore." She admitted. "I'm going to take a bath, see if that eases me up any." Emma mumbled.
"Ok honey. I'll make you some hot chocolate when you're out. That might help." Snow offered.
"Thanks mom." Emma said as she trudged her way up the stairs to begin her bath.
Emma was right that the hot water would ease her sore muscles. She felt totally relaxed. So relaxed that she couldn't help but rest her head against the back of the tub and close her eyes…
An hour later, and Snow had grown concerned.
"Charming, she should be out by now. I haven't heard anything. I'm worried." Snow said, gazing up the stairs.
"Snow I'm sure she's fine but if you're worried go knock on the door." Charming told her. Snow didn't need to be told twice. She made her way up the stairs and knocked on the door.
"Emma sweetheart, it's just me. I just wanted to check you were ok? You've been in there for an awful long time?" She asked. Snow waited a few seconds, but there was no reply. "Emma honey, please answer me." Still nothing. Snow tried the handle and to her relief found that Emma had left the door unlocked. Snow could see she had fallen asleep, and her head had slipped dangerously low. A few more minutes and her mouth would have been under the water.
"Emma sweetheart, you can't fall asleep in here." Snow said, coming over and carefully lifting Emma's head up. "You need to wake up honey, come on." Emma opened her eyes, her brain felt foggy. "Honey, come on. It's time to get out."
"Sleepy." Emma complained. She didn't have the energy to move- she didn't want to. Emma was so sleepy that she didn't even care her mom was here.
"I know honey, but you need to get out. Honey you'll drown if you stay in here. Come on, out we get." Emma wasn't much help, but Snow managed to manoeuvre her out of the bath and got her towel wrapped around her. She then got one wrapped around her hair to stop her catching a cold.
"There, that's a good step." Emma was past caring. She closed her head, drooped her head and fell asleep.
When Emma woke up, she was slightly startled to find that she didn't know where she was.
"Well hey there sleeping beauty, that was a long sleep." Emma looked up to see her mom. She now realised she was in her parents bed.
"What happened?" Emma asked groggily. "I remember taking my bath, and then nothing." She said, confused. Snow sat down on the edge of the bed and felt her forehead.
"Well your temperature is returning to normal, that's good. You were pretty sick last night Em. You fell asleep in the bath and weren't for getting out. I had to come and help you out. You fell asleep before you were even dry. I got you dried off and changed into some PJs. I even managed to blow dry your hair without you waking up. Then your dad came and carried you down here. I didn't want you sleeping on your own in case something happened during the night.
"Oh." Emma said. "Well, thanks for that."
"Any time. I've got some soup ready for you. Want me to stick it in the microwave?" Emma smiled.
"Yeah, that would be great. I'm starving."
"I'm not surprised, it's two in the afternoon. You must have been really tired." Emma was pretty surprised herself. She didn't know she could sleep that long. "I don't think it's wise for you to leave bed until tomorrow. You were obviously feeling pretty unwell so just take it easy today ok?" Snow said. Emma nodded, still feeling a little ropey. Snow was fairly worried about Emma, it wasn't like her to take being told to stay in bed so well. She would just have to keep an extra close eye on her until she was certain Emma was on the mend.
