How far to go
Just one of my own now. *Season 5 spoilers* we've been told through interviews with Ginny and Josh that Snowing's relationship will be tested this season with Emma being the Dark One. My own theory on this is what they'd be willing to do to get Emma back and how they'd be willing to do this. So far what we've seen (IMO anyway) is that Snow is sometimes a bit rasher without thinking through all the consequences (but her heart is generally in the right place). Whereas Charming tends to try and find other solutions before diving headfirst into the quickest way. So on that note I give you this…
"Snow stop, you can't actually be thinking about going through with this?" Charming called after his wife as she marched down the path, bow and arrows slung over her shoulder.
"Can't I? You heard Merlin, to take the darkness from Emma we need to find Morgana and stick a poisoned arrow through her heart. It's not the same as it was with Lily. Morgana isn't an innocent infant- she's a villain in this world. We're doing people a favour…
"Snow it's not that simple and you know it. Think about how Emma reacted when she found out about Lily. Do you really think she'll react any less badly when she finds out this is how we got the darkness out of her? Emma told us we had to do this the right way-"
"And this is the right way!" Snow yelled. "The right way is getting her back before the darkness sucks her up completely and it's too late. I promised Emma I would never stop trying to protect her, regardless of what she did or said. If she never talks to me again after I do this then so be it. As long as I know she's safe. Aren't you prepared to do whatever it takes to get her back? Don't you want to protect our child?" Snow asked him, voice filling with venom. Charming couldn't believe Snow would say such a thing to him.
"Of course I want to protect her! But I don't believe killing another human being and adding that to her conscience is the right way to do it. Has it even occurred to you that Merlin might be testing us? That he's waiting to see if we can be trusted with the true secret of ridding the world of the Dark One? Do you really think it will be as easy as killing some witch? Snow this isn't you. This isn't the woman I fell in love with. This isn't the hero I know, the mother that Emma and Neal deserve. If it were them you would tell them that there had to be another way- that they had to do the right thing. Don't be a hypocrite."
"I will do whatever it takes to protect her. If you won't help me then I'll do it on my own." Snow snarled. But Charming wasn't going to let her do this. He pulled the bow off her back and snapped it in two. "What are you doing?" Snow screamed.
"You don't need a weapon. I can protect you and you're pretty good at hand to hand combat anyway. Snow you are not killing Morgana. It is not how we protect our daughter. We will do this the right way- for her." Snow could strangle him right now. It took a lot of self-control not to. Instead she stormed past him, heading back to the camp. Charming let her go, knowing now wasn't the right time to try and talk to her. Much like both he and Snow would do anything to protect Emma regardless of what she did or said, Charming would protect Snow.
