Freddy's coming for Emma
A guest asked for a oneshot of : Emma being really excited to take Henry to see his first horror movie. Snowing think Henry is too young but they go anyway. When the movie starts Henry thinks it's really cool and it's Emma that can't handle it and she constantly buries her face in Henry's shoulder. Henry asks if she wants to go home, but she says no and pretends everything is fine. Later she has nightmares and Snowing say they told her it was a bad idea.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Snow asked once more. Emma rolled her eyes.
"For the last time yes, it's fine. He's sixteen now, he's not a baby. Besides, I never got to see Nightmare on Elm Street when it came out originally because I didn't have the funds. Now I can take my boy and we can enjoy it together." Emma said happily.
"Are you sure he isn't too young? I mean, it's a pretty creepy film Em." Charming tried. Emma sighed.
"I'll be right beside him. He watched The hills have eyes and Silence of the lambs without any of us knowing for ages. He'll be fine. We'll see you tomorrow morning." Emma said, ushering Henry out of the door.
Emma screeched and dived behind Henry's shoulder again.
"Awesome! Mom you're missing it! He's filled with maggots."
"Eww…" Emma groaned. Henry smiled down at her mom. So much for the big tough Saviour sheriff.
"Do you want to go home mom? I can always just buy the DVD…"
"No, no I'm fine." Emma insisted, although the lack of any colour in her face suggested she was anything but fine.
"Alright." Henry said, although he was a tad worried his mom was going to throw up on him.
"So did you enjoy the film?" Charming asked as Emma and Henry came through the door. Henry nodded earnestly whilst Emma just gave a small, curt, nod. "Freddy Krueger wasn't too scary for you buddy?" Charming checked on Henry. The boy shook his head.
"Nope, I found it all awesome! Night guys, see you tomorrow."
"Night kid." Emma said, not sure she'd have an easy sleep tonight…
One, two Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four better lock your door.
Five, six grab your crucifix.
Seven, eight better stay up late
Nine, ten never sleep again…
Emma woke up screaming. Next thing she knew her parents were running into the room. Her dad brandishing his sword and her mom with a loaded bow raised.
"Emma is there an intruder here?!" Charming asked, searching the room. Emma shook her head.
"Freddy was coming for me!" She said, clearly still half asleep. It took a moment for her parents to register what she meant.
"Well we said it was a bad idea." Snow told her off. "Sure we thought Henry would be the one having nightmares, but we did warn you it was awful scary." Snow and Charming came over. Together they got Emma lying down again and the quilt tucked around her.
"We'll leave the big light on for you." Charming said quietly. "Henry won't ever know. Freddy's fictional Emma, remember that. He's not like us. He is just a story, ok?"
"Ok." Emma murmured, though she didn't feel so certain.
"Night Em." Snow whispered as they both left Emma, leaving the door slightly ajar just in case she needed them again.
