Gigi
nahbois68 asked for a oneshot of Henry coming up with a name for Belle as he feels calling her by her given name excludes her from the family.
Guest who asked for the dwarves overhearing and guest who asked for Emma in the clock tower: I'm afraid these have been too closely covered.
"Oh hi Henry, your grandpa's just popped out. He'll be back in a few minutes. Want to come sit in the back and I'll get you a snack?" Belle asked in her usual friendly manner.
"Yeah sure thanks…" Henry trailed off like he had wanted to say more. Belle looked at him more closely. She could see now that he was gazing at her quite curiously.
"Is there something on your mind?" She asked him. Since she and Rumple had rekindled their relationship and Henry began coming round more that his grandfather wasn't the Dark One, she had grown quite close to the boy.
"Well…" Henry began as he came closer and leaned over the counter, resting his elbows on it and peering right at Belle's face. "I can't call you Lacey, because that was your cursed name. Belle's too formal. You don't like grandma, so I can't call you that, but what do I call you? I feel like calling you Belle excludes you from being part of the family. You are my step-grandma after all. I mean, I know my mom calls my other mom Regina but I think the relationship is a little different there." Belle smiled at the image of Emma attempting to call Regina grandma, and smiled even more so at Henry's cuteness. He wanted to make sure she felt included.
"Henry you are without doubt the sweetest little boy I've ever met." Belle said, reaching out and squeezing his shoulder. "How about Gigi? Sounds French, so it's like my surname." She suggested. She thought that was a fair compromise, she could cope with being a Gigi. Henry smiled at that idea; he liked it.
"Sounds great. Now I believe you promised me a snack, Gigi?" He said, testing out the name. Belle laughed, it was still going to take some getting used to. She jerked her head in the direction of the back of the shop, telling Henry to come on through. After all, isn't it a grandma's duty to overfeed their grandkids?
