Someone who understands

snoopykid asked for a oneshot of Henry bonding with Elsa over Emma's OOC powers. He asks her how he could help his mom better.

Henry stared glumly out of his bedroom window. He had failed. He had really thought that he would have been the one who'd be able to calm his mom down. They had a special bond. I mean, they broke the curse over Storybrooke with true love's kiss. Instead he'd just made everything worse. Now his mom would never come home- not after she'd hurt him. It might have been an accident, but Henry knew his mom would never see it that way.

A gentle knock on the door brought Henry out of his stupor. He looked across to see Elsa, smiling understandingly.

"Your grandmother asked me to bring you this." She said, holding up an icepack that Henry suspected she'd made herself. Elsa took his silence as permission to come over. She crossed the room and held the icepack out to him. "I still find it surreal that she's your grandmother being so young."

"Yeah, everyone says that." Henry grumbled moodily, accepting the ice and holding it over his wound.

"Don't be mad at your mother, she can't control herself." Elsa said in her gentle, very royal manner. "When you have powers like we do, you try so hard not to hurt the people you love that you normally end up hurting them anyway." Elsa did her best to explain.

"I'm not mad at her, I'm mad at myself." Henry responded, the ice numbing the throbbing pain around the cut Emma's magical outburst had created. "I've made it worse for her." Elsa felt for the young boy. He genuinely believed it was his fault.

"Henry, you haven't made things worse. Your mother wasn't coming back either way tonight Henry. She needs space."

"I wish she would. I need her." Henry admitted. He looked up at Elsa. "You've been there, how do I help her feel better so she'll come back?" Elsa placed her hand on Henry's shoulder.

"I wish I could give you a fix everything answer Henry, but I can't. You help her by accepting who she is, and you're already doing that. Just give her time." Henry sighed and nodded glumly. He appreciated Elsa's input, but it didn't make him feel much better. He just wanted his mom.
