History repeating itself
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Snowing returning home to find Neal is gone and Emma unconscious on the floor with Charming's sword, and stab wounds similar to his when he saved her.
"I love it when we have a chance to do date nights." Snow said, reaching up on her tiptoes and kissing her husband's cheek.
"You sure we can't suddenly stay at Granny's tonight and leave Emma a text for the morning? She and Neal will both be asleep anyway." Charming whispered, gently but firmly pressing Snow against the door. Snow sighed, desperately wishing that she could tell him yes, they could just sneak off for the night and continue their date night at Granny's, but she'd only pumped enough milk for the evening.
"Unless you want your son to starve, I'm afraid we do need to return inside." Snow whispered delicately right against his ear. Charming sighed in disappointment, but pulled away from Snow and took out his keys. He placed them in the door and turned them anti-clockwise. Charming found the keys wouldn't turn.
"Odd," he said as he pulled it back out "Emma must have forgotten to lock the door."
"That's unlike her." Snow agreed as they walked into the house quietly, believing that both their children would be asleep by now. They were then more surprised to find the light on when they walked in. Both parents were now on high alert- something wasn't right here. A tiny grown set them both shooting off to the kitchen, and the sight sent them both panicking. Emma was lying slumped against the fridge with her father's sword now loosely in her right hand. A pool of her own blood fast surrounding her.
"Emma, what happened?!" Charming asked as crouched down beside her. Snow had quickly grabbed the phone and was dialling nine-one-one.
"Neal." Emma said weakly. "I tried to stop…they took…" Emma couldn't get a whole sentence out. "He's gone." Both Snow and Charming's hearts stopped for a moment. Someone had kidnapped their son. "My fault…failed him…"
"No Emma, you haven't failed anyone." Charming assured her. "This is not your fault. This is the fault of whoever did this. Emma, stay with me sweetheart. Can you tell me who did this to you? Can you tell me who took Neal?"
"Zelena." Emma croaked out. "Her monkeys." Charming took Emma's shoulders in his hands as Snow finished calling for the ambulance. There was no point asking for the police- the police were already in the house. "Emma, I am going to get your brother back. Until then you need to stay awake and you need to stay strong for me. Can you do that?" Emma nodded weakly, fighting sleep with every painful breath. Charming kissed her forehead and grabbed his sword, stained with his daughter's blood which just fuelled his determination to get his son back. He quickly kissed the side of Snow's head before storming out of the house. Snow took his place crouched by Emma's side. She put on a brave smile for Emma.
"It's going to be alright." She said, taking Emma's hand. "The ambulance will be here soon. Just hold on Em." But with one child seriously injured and the other missing, Snow felt like right now things couldn't be further from alright.
