Painful nights- part 2

A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch976 "Painful nights" where Snow insists on staying close to Emma throughout the night so as to make sure she's ok.

Prisky0731: I'm afraid that has been too closely covered.

Emma awoke with the sound of the twittering birds through the window. For a moment she thought that her bed was harder and lumpier than usual, she opened her eyes and found that she wasn't in bed at all. It took Emma a moment to remember why she was here. She now had a blanket wrapped loosely around her, she wondered how that had happened since she had clearly not moved.

"Your dad got up to feed Neal, found us here and wrapped that blanket around you." Snow said, both knowing her daughter was awake and what her question would be.

"What time is it?" Emma mumbled, half opening her eyes and peaking up at her mom.

"It's only six Emma, try and go back to sleep."

Emma tried feebly to push herself up, but Snow gently kept her down.

"Honey, you can't go back up there alone. You'll go through the pain again. I know you want let me lie beside you so just stay here."

"But that's not fair on you. Mom you haven't slept. I'll be fine…"

"No, you won't." Snow said gently but firmly. "I can nap while Neal naps throughout the day. I'm more concerned about you getting back to sleep." Emma felt her mom begin to run her hands through her hair. "Go to sleep Em." Snow said quietly. Emma couldn't help but feel that was a dirty trick. Her mom just seemed to know how relaxing she found the motion of the fingers running through her hair.

"If you insist." Emma murmured sleepily, sliding her head down and resting it against her mother's lap once more. Snow smiled, Emma was asleep in seconds. She couldn't leave Emma alone like this. She would never sleep anyway, knowing there was even the slightest chance Emma was in pain. She would rather be here against the banister (slightly comfier since Charming provided her with a pillow) than in her warm, comfortable bed. She needed to be with Emma right now, just like she would need to be with Neal if he started to cry for her. She would sleep when her children didn't need her, that was part of her responsibilities as a mother.
