Disappointment- part 2

Snowing-fever asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch709 "Disappointment" where Snow is at Henry's birth and freaks out at the cuffs around Emma's wrist and ankle as they travel from the prison to the hospital. After Henry is born she promises to look after him until Emma is out. When she is, Snow is waiting for her holding Henry.

Snow didn't think she had ever ran so fast in her life. Her lungs were burning and she wasn't sure how her legs were still supporting her, but still she kept running, dodging through the parked cars in the prison carpark. Finally, she made her goal: the entrance reception. Snow stumbled through the door, nearly collapsing at the front desk, slamming her hand repeatedly against the little bell. A moment later a disgruntled looking guard came out.

"Emma's mother?" They asked gruffly. Snow nodded, too out of breath to speak. "Follow me, you're just in time." Snow couldn't believe it, the time had flown by. She was about to become a grandmother. Her baby was having a baby! The guard led Snow out back to where the ambulance was just getting ready to set off. Snow quickly clambered into the back before the doors were slammed shut behind her.

"Mom!" Emma called through the pain. Snow moved over to her side. Only then did she notice the handcuffs; one attaching her right wrist to the bed and the other her right ankle.

"Oh give me strength." Snow said, furious. She turned to the guard sitting on the chair. "You ever been in labour? Do you think she's going to be going anywhere fast?"

"I'm sorry, it's policy." The guard said, sounding much more gentle than their colleague. But that didn't ease Snow's temper much.

"Well Officer…Moore, your policy is ridiculous." Snow snapped after reading her name badge, before turning back to Emma. She placed her hand on Emma's forehead and stroked her thumb against it. "It's all going to be ok baby." Snow promised her. "I'm right here. Both you and your baby are going to be just fine."

Snow could see the pain in Emma's eyes as Henry- as Emma had named him- was taken from her and placed instead in Snow's arms. Snow couldn't imagine having Emma taken from her right after she was born, but she was powerless to change this.

"It's just one month Emma, you have to hold onto that thought." Snow said gently. "And I'll visit as often as I can. We can make this work." Emma didn't respond, feeling like her heart was being taken from her, but like her mother knew she was powerless to change this.

One month later

Emma smiled as she inhaled her first breath of fresh air as a free woman for the first time in a year. Her smile widened further as she saw her mother walking towards her, Henry in her arms. He had grown so much since his birth it was unreal. Emma quickened her pace towards them. She reached out and took Henry from her mom, cradling him close to her. Snow wrapped her arms around them both, creating a group hug.

"Welcome back, mommy."
