Selfish decision
Grant asked for a oneshot of Charming telling Emma about Snow visiting Regina after killing Cora. Emma immediately leaves the station and returns home to have a go at Snow for thinking about herself and not her family.
"She did what?!" Emma shrieked. She quickly rose from her desk, not caring about the piles of paper she sent tumbling across the floor.
"Now Emma, calm down. She was riddled with guilt." Charming said, trying to help Emma understand Snow's actions. "She and Regina have such a turbulent relationship already. Regina has convinced your mother that it is her fault Daniel was murdered. She couldn't cope with believing she was the cause of her mother's death as well, regardless of how Cora had to be stopped and Rumplestiltskin manipulating her…" Emma had heard enough from her dad, in her mind there was no excuse for this. She was going to have a word with her mother, there would be no more gentle love. "Emma, don't do anything rash!" Charming called after his daughter as she stormed out. He sat back down at his desk and rubbed his temple, knowing there was no point in trying to stop her. Emma had to get this out of her system or she would be bitter about it for a lot longer. He might not have known Emma was his daughter for very long, but that much he did know.
Emma didn't even consider the speed limit as she raced back to the family's apartment. When she arrived and got out of her bug she slammed the door with such force the whole car shuddered. She jammed her keys in the front door of the house aggressively and tugged the door open. She marched over to where her parents' room was and yanked the curtain back. Her mom was already sitting up in the bed, having heard the front door being opened.
"Emma." She said, surprised. "What are you-"
"You asked Regina to kill you?" Emma asked, the anger clear in her voice. Snow looked down, ashamed.
"I couldn't handle the guilt Emma." Snow said, trying to explain herself. "I had to…"
"You had to abandon me again, is that right?" Emma spat. Snow looked up at Emma again. For the first time that day she got off of the bed.
"No Emma, it wasn't like that. I wasn't thinking…" Snow tried to rest her hands on Emma's shoulders, but Emma stepped back.
"So I wasn't even a thought in your mind when you went to have your life taken? Not me, not David (AN before people have a go, remember Emma wasn't calling them mom and dad at this point), not Henry?" Snow could see now the damage she had done. She didn't know what to say, didn't know how she could make this better. She could see tears building up behind Emma's eyes. "How could you be so selfish?" Snow felt the words cut right through her. "I was stupid to think I had actually found a family." Emma said quietly, but Snow felt as though the words were echoing right around the room. Emma turned on her heel and ran out of the house. Snow felt frozen for a second, stung by Emma's words. She shook her head, coming to her senses. She had to chase after her.
"Emma, wait!" She yelled, sprinting after her, but it was too late. Emma had made it to her bug and was speeding off. Snow sunk to the stairs with her head in her hands. What had she done?
